이에 대한 나의 의견은 나도 저 69%에 속하는 것 같다. 물론 내가 좋아하는 선수도 엄청난 수비 시프트를 당하고 있고, 잘 맞은 타구가 많이 잡혀서 자주 뒷목을 잡고는 있으나, 이 또한 녀석이 이겨내야 할 하나의 관문이라는 생각이다. 야구는 단순히 몸만 쓰는 운동이 아닌 복잡하고 다양한 학문의 결합체이다. 운동학, 물리학, 통계학, 심리학, 의학과 첨단 기술이 결합된 매우 흥미로운 종목이면서도 엄청나게 어렵고 다양한 종목이기도 하다.
수비 시프트도 이런 발전의 한 단계일텐데 이걸 막는 게 과연 순리에 맞는 일인지 모르겠다. 시간이 좀 걸리겠으나, 이 또한 이겨내는 선수가 많아지면 야구가 한 차원 다른 재미를 선사해줄 수 있지 않을까 싶고 그렇지 못하더라도 좋은 선수를 가려낼 수 있는 한 방법이 될 수 있을 것이다.

It's a very interesting sport mixed kinematics and physics and statistics and psychology and rehabilitation medicine and high technology, a so difficult and various sport at the same time.
Defensive shifts will be a step of development like this, I'm not sure limiting this is good thing. 사실 나도 이 시프트 대응에 대한 부분이 걸려 꾸준히 스플릿 성적을 보고 있었는데 시즌의 반이 진행된 지금, 이 정도면 표본이 좀 쌓인 것이 아닌가 싶어 어떤 선수들이 이 시프트에 잘 대응하고 있는지 한번 올려보고자 한다. 물론 내가 좋아하는 선수도 포함이 되어 있어서 기쁜 마음으로 올린다! ㅎㅎㅎ
현재 대충 규정 타석이 260여 타석 정도 되어서 그 중 50% 이상의 타석(130타석)에서 시프트를 맞이한 선수를 기준으로 검색해봤고, 이 표는 팬그래프닷컴에서 가져왔다.
오렌지 색이 칠해진 선수들이 나름 중요하다고 보는 모든 스탯의 상위 10위 안에 포함된 선수들이긴 한데 전체적으로 WRC+나 OPS가 낮은 것을 보면 확실히 현재 시프트에 대응할 수 있는 최고의 방법은 꾸준히 빈 곳으로 단타라도 만들어내는 일인 것 같다. 인플레이된 타구를 수비수들이 없는 곳으로 보내는 전략을 적극적으로 활용하고, 수비수마저도 처리할 수 없는 강한 타구를 만든다는 전략이 함께 공존되어 있어 보인다.
프레디 프리먼과 아스드루발 카브레라는 정말 눈에 뛴다. 게다가 프레디 프리먼은 현재 가장 유력한 NL MVP 후보인데 이 표를 보니 한층 더 성장한 것 같고, 시프트마저도 아무렇지 않게 만들어버리는 그의 진가가 매우 인상적이다. 또한 지금까지 팬들의 원성이 자자했으나 드디어 올해 브레이크 아웃 한 것으로 보이는 브랜든 벨트의 호성적도 이와 무관하지 않아 보이고, 맷 카펜터, 추신수 모두 마찬가지인 상황인 것 같다. 조이 보토님은 뭐 원래 말이 필요없는 훌륭한 분이니 넘어가기로 하자.

물론 난 미치가 레인저스에 있을 때도 다른 팬들과는 달리 참 좋아했었고, 그의 수비에 대해서는 단 한번도 에릭 호스머에게 밀린다는 생각을 가져본 적이 없다. 레인저스에 있었던 마지막 해에는 실제로 골드 글러브를 수상하기도 했고, 작년에도 원래 미치가 가장 유력한 후보였다. 내가 알기론 그가 레인저스 팬들에게 많은 원성을 받았던 이유가 좌투수 성적과 이 시프트가 무관하지 않은 걸로 알고 있는데 드디어 환골탈태하는 데에 성공한 것 같고, 아마 그 해법을 마련한 이상 그의 실력을 의심할 필요는 없어 보인다.
(Of course, I liked him pretty much differently with another fans when he was in Rangers, I've never thought his defense isn't good than Eric Hosmer even only once. When he spent the last season in Rangers, he actually won gold glove, Mitch was a strongest candidate last season. 내가 가장 좋아하고 아끼는 노마 마자라에 대해서는 가장 많은 내용을 담을 수 있을 것 같다. 아무래도 팀 기록원이나 관계자, 야구 분석가들 외에 비전문가 중에서는 내가 그의 플레이를 가장 많이 보면서 나름의 방법대로 분석한 사람이 아닐까 싶은데 그가 올해 시프트에 대처하는 방법은 앞에서도 언급했듯이 인플레이된 타구를 수비수가 없는 곳으로 보내는 것 그리고 강한 타구를 날리는 것 이 두 가지가 모두 혼합되어 있다. 사실 작년에는 좌타자 전용 시프트가 거의 주였으나, 올해의 경우 노마가 겪는 시프트의 형태는 참으로 다양해져서 상황에 따라 전략을 다르게 가져가는 것처럼 보였다.
확실히 내가 그를 잘못 본 것은 아니었던 것 같다. 범상치 않은 베이스볼 아이큐...... 확실히 탑유망주 출신다운 재능도 가지고 있지만 가장 큰 강점은 똑똑하다는 부분이고, 아직 더 갈 길이 멀긴 하나, 23살에 저 정도 성공률이면 앞으로 훌륭한 선수가 되는 것이 전혀 이상한 일은 아닌 듯 싶다. 단지, 출루율 보다는 타율을 더 중요하게 여기는 올드 스쿨 기질이 있어보이고(뭐 나도 3/4/5 라인을 좋아해서 그 부분은 이해함. 출루율 4할은 볼넷도 볼넷이지만 안타도 많이 쳐야하는 건 중요 요소이고, 3/4/5를 찍는 선수가 된다는 것은 MVP에 가까운 선수가 된다는 방증이니까), 감독과 너무 궁합이 안 맞는다는 게 문제랄까...
물론 추가로 작년 후반기부터 좌투수 대응 능력이 향상되고 있기도 하다. 장타도 작년보다 늘어났고, 전체적으로 Hard%도 향상된 것처럼 보였으니까...
요새 좋은 유망주들이 늘어나서 조금 더딘 것 같은 느낌이긴 해도 그는 이제 23살이고,(저 명단에서 다음주에 23살이 되는 코디 밸린저와 노마 마자라가 제일 어림;;;) 여전히 팀의 25 로스터 안에서도 가장 어린 선수이다. 이 정도의 영리함이라면 브레이크 아웃하는 건 이제 시간 문제인 것 같다.

Somehow I will be the person who watches his plays at the most and analyzes by my own way in amateurs except team and team's relation and baseball analyst, method he dealing with shifts this season is all maxed two way which sends batted balls in play to the space non defender and hit hard batted balls as I mentioned ahead. In my memory, he mainly experienced typical shifts for left handed hitters last season, but the form of shifts experiencing Nomar is getting more various this season, so it has seemed he is differently using the tactics by some situation.
I think I certainly estimate who he is. Remarkable baseball IQ...... He has very good talents as he was a top prospector, however his biggest strength is smart part, even if the way should go is too far, considering success rate with 23 years old, I think becoming great player isn't odd thing at all. But it looks like he has some old school tendencies that consider batting average more than OBP(I can understand the part so I like 3/4/5 slash line. Achieving OBP .400 should also hit a lot of baseball hits with base on balls, player recording 3/4/5 almost becomes a player close MVP), I've been feeling manager's anti of him...
Of course, he has been improving ability dealing with lefty pitchers from the second half of last season in addition. Extra baseball hits has been increasing than last season, it seems to improve Hard% on the whole...
Even if good prospectors increase these days and it feels like he slowly improves, he's still 23 years old(Cody Bellinger who will be 23 years old in the next week and Nomar Mazara are the youngest guys in that list), he's still youngest player in his team's 25 roaster. If it considers his intelligent, I think his breakout is just a matter of time.}
어쨌든 수비 시프트가 나온 시기에 비해 특히 좌타자들의 대응이 좀 떨어지는 것은 사실이나, 확실히 수비 시프트를 더 잘 활용할 줄 아는 선수가 된다는 건 좀 더 좋은 선수가 되었거나 혹은 되어가고 있다는 하나의 증거가 될 수 있을 것 같다. 저 명단 상위 선수들 거의 대부분 올 시즌 성적이 평균은 당연히 넘어서고, 괜찮은 편에 속해있기 때문이다. 그리고 이 선수들의 저 수치는 솔직히 시즌 끝까지도 크게 떨어질 일은 없을 것 같다. 이미 시프트를 깨는 방법을 잘 활용하고 있는 선수들이고, 그런 전략이나 기술이 도태되는 건 아니니 말이다. 더더욱 기상천외한 시프트가 나오지 않는 이상은......
(Anyway it is true especially left handed hitters' responding isn't good comparing with the time started defensive shift, however becoming players can use defensive shift much more will be a proof which becomes or is becoming much better player. Because this season's stats of almost high rankers in that list are over season average, they are belonging to good level. And I don't think that stats of these players are lower to the end of season. They can use some methods breaking shift very well, tactic or technic like that doesn't disappear. If more extraordinary shifts don't appear......)
