[DESIGN 11] 2016 MLB 달력 디자인 - 탁상형 (A calendar's design of MLB of 2016 - a desk type)

이번엔 2016 MLB 달력 중 탁상 달력에 대한 리뷰를 시작해본다. 벽걸이 달력의 리뷰에서 이 작업을 하며 느낀 점들을 주로 썼기 때문에 이 글에선 제작 과정에 대해서 써본다. 일단 내가 주로 인쇄하는 업체의 규격을 확인한 후 그 사이즈에 맞게 작업을 시작하는데 공백이나 스프링때문에 잘리는 위치를 감안하는 것이 쉽지 않아 일단 모든 폼을 완성한 후 나중에 그 사이즈에 맞추는 수정 작업을 한다. 그래서 생각보다 오랜 시간이 걸리는 듯......

(I start review about a desk calendar of MLB calendar of 2016 this time. Because I usually wrote impression after finishing this design in a wall calendar's review, I write about design process this posting. First I start to work setting the size after usually checking size of company to print, it isn't easy to measure location which is cut due to blank or spring, so I modify to set up the size after finishing all form . So it seems to spend a long time than I expect......)

어떤 식으로 작년 또는 그 이전과 다른 디자인으로 만들 수 있을 것인지에 대해서 많은 고민을 했고, 결국 이번엔 그 고민이 헛되지 않은 것 같다. 4개월 주기에서 2개월 정도는 기존에 했던 것과 비슷한 배경이긴 하지만 2개월은 기존에 하지 않았던 방법을 활용하여 디자인했다.

(I considered about a thing how creates different design comparing last year or before the time a lot, finally I think I don't try vain consideration this time. Two months of the four months  is similar background with thing doing before, but I designed using method not to do before in the other 2 months.) 

물론 달력 디자인을 하기 앞서 사진부터 미리 선별해야한다. 미리 어떤 컨셉으로 할지를 확실히 정해두고 사진을 골라도 좋겠지만 그렇게 하기에는 너무 방대한 양이라 일단 마음에 들거나 잘 나온 사진 위주로 추리고 난 후 각 월마다 테마나 주제가 정해지면 그것에 맞는 사진을 확실히 골라 사용한다. 이게 그나마 시간이 덜 걸리는 방법인 것 같다.

(Of course, it has to select photos before to make a calendar design. It surely decides to do which concept beforehand, it's good to select photos, first if theme or subject is decided at each months, I certainly use to select photos setting about the thing after I choose mainly favorite or good photos. I think this is a way taking less time.)

역시 4개월 주기로 1월은 눈과 파란 하늘의 조화를 생각하며 최대한 깔끔하게 나오게끔 노력했고, 5월과 9월까지 눈꽃모양을 넣기는 계절적으로 맞지 않는 듯 싶어 뭔가 반짝이는 빛의 느낌을 주는 것으로 대신했으며 2월과 6월, 10월은 물방울 무늬와 밤색을 이용하여 귀여운 느낌을 주었다. 

3월과 4월, 7월, 8월, 11월, 12월에 적용한 배경이 바로 기존에 했던 것과는 전혀 다른 방식의 배경이었다.

3월과 7월, 11월은 PNC 파크 투어할 당시에 찍은 PNC 파크의 내부 모습을 약간 몽환적인 느낌이 나도록 옐로우 패턴의 리터칭을 했고, 4월과 8월, 12월은 멀리 외부에서 찍은 카우프만 스타디움의 이미지를 고풍스러운 느낌이 나도록 네이비 패턴으로 리터칭했다. 그냥 단순히 리터칭만 하기엔 이미지가 깔끔해보이지 않을 수도 있기 때문에 그 위에 삽입되는 사진이나 날짜 박스 등도 굉장히 고심해서 디자인할 수 밖에 없었다.

아마 나에게 선물을 받는 분들도 이 의미를 알고 달력을 보면 더 매력적으로 느껴지지 않을까 싶다. 너무 자화자찬하나...;;; ㅎㅎㅎ

그래도 여태까지 만들었던 달력 중에 내 개인적으로도 이번이 제일 마음에 든다...!!!

(Also I thought balance of snow and blue sky and tried to show neatly as possible in January on cycle of 4 months, I don't think to match putting  a shape of snow flower in May and September, so it replaced to give feeling of something sparkle light, I made cute feeling using for water drop and chestnut color in February and June and October.

Background of March and April and July and August and November and December was completely different background to compare existing method. I retouched yellow pattern which has dreamlike feeling for using inside of PNC park that I take a picture when I do a park tour in March and July and November, I retouched navy pattern which has vintage feeling for using Kauffman stadium's whole image that I take a picture outside far away in Apri and August and December. I should extremely design to consider for photos and box of date and etc inserting above the background cause just to do only retouching can't see neatly images themselves. 

Maybe if some people to get gifts to me know this mean and see a calendar, it seems to feel more charmingly. Do I praise myself so...;;; :)

Anyway I'm personally to my most liking this time of the calendar making me until now...!!!)

처음 받았을 때는 인쇄된 사진이 생각보다 마음에 들지는 않았다. 당연히 픽셀로 표현되는 모니터의 해상도를 인쇄물이 따라올 수는 없는 것이지만 전에 쓰던 컴퓨터에서 했던 작업의 결과물과 맥북으로 했던 작업의 결과물의 격차가 꽤 나는 것 같다. 이거 참 맥북 해상도는 좋아도 너무 좋은 듯...;;;;

(When I got these calendars at first, I don't like printing photos than I expected. Surely the printing matter can't catch up monitor's resolution to be shown by pixel, but I think gap of output working to do mac book is pretty bigger than gap of output working to do computer using before. What a mac book's resolution very great...;;;)

이번 달력이 너무 만족스러워서 기분이 좋기도 하지만 앞으로 이것보다 더 좋은 결과물을 만들어낼 수 있을지에 대해서 생각하면 큰 부담이 간다. 물론 또 다시 내 능력 밖의 목표를 설정해두고, 그 목표를 달성하기 위해서 엄청난 노력을 하겠지만 그렇다고 해도 항상 결과가 잘 나오는 것은 아니기 때문이다.

이 달력을 받은 분들도 생각보다 좋은 퀄리티와 정성이 너무 마음에 든다고 해주셔서 아주 뿌듯하고 기분이 좋지만 또 다시 어떤 창작의 고통이 뒤따를지 생각하면 벌써부터 눈 앞이 깜깜해지는 듯 하다.

그래도 최선을 다해서 노력해봐야겠지... 그래야 내 앞으로의 일들도 잘 풀릴테니까......!!!

(I feel good so I'm very satisfactory this calendar, but if I think about I can create better output than this one in the future, I'm getting big burden. Of course, I set up goal of out of my ability again, I'll do huge effort for reaching the goal, because the result isn't always well.

People to get this one told very satisfactory what is good quality and devotion than they expected, I feel so good and worthwhile, however if I think how follows agony of creation again, it's already getting dark in front of my eyes.

Anyway I'll try to do my best... I think my future will be well......!!!)
