처음 미국여행을 시작한 2015년 2월, 플로리다 템파에 가기 위해 시카고 오헤어 공항으로 들어갔었고, 시카고 야구장 2곳을 돌기 위해 작년 봄인 5월에 이 곳을 방문했으며, 레인저스 경기를 보기 위해 올해 8월에도 이 곳에 갔었으니 시카고가 나에게는 미국에서 가장 많이 방문한 도시가 되었다. 샌프란시스코와 덴버를 가장 많이 사랑하기도 하지만 시카고도 좋아하지 않을 수 없는 도시이다.
대도시보다는 공기 좋고 다소 평화로운 중소규모의 도시나 시골을 더 선호하기는 하나, 생각 외로 뉴욕같은 복잡함은 없어서 항상 좋은 느낌을 준다.
(In February, 2015 starting travle of USA at first time, I have been in O'hare Airport in Chicago for going to Tampa, Florida, I visited here in May being spring last year for going to 2 places of ballpaks in Chicago, I have gone here in August this year for attending Rangers' game, so Chicago was the city visiting the most to me in USA. I love San Francisco and Denver a lot though, Chicago is a city where can't but like as well.
I prefer medium-small cities that is fresh air and peaceful somewhat or rural area than big city, but Chicago always makes me good so it isn't busy like New York than I thought.)
2019년은 불행하게도 단 한번의 여행으로 그것도 매우 짧은 8박 9일만이 나에게 허락된 시간이었고, 그 시간을 알차게 보내기 위해 여행 계획을 짜는데 골머리를 앓기도 했으나, 어쨌든 올해도 그 과업을 이어나갈 수 있었다. 참, 살아갈수록 왜 이렇게 삶이 각박하고 힘든지 알 수가 없다. 이제 나에게 탈출구는 여행이 전부인 듯 싶다. 야구도 예전처럼 재미있지는 않으니 말이다.
(Unfortunately, only so short time of 8 nights 9 days with travel once was permitted to me in 2019, it was bother my head of planning travel schedule for meaningfully spending the time though, anyway the bucket list was able to continue this year. Huh, the more living, the living why life's heartless and tough...... I'm reducing interest about baseball as the past.)
그렇다고 할지라도, 여전히 나의 버킷 리스트 달성 그리고 재설정은 계속될 것이고, 야구에 대한 흥미도 완전히 사라지지는 않을 것 같다. 모든 부분은 아니어도 여러가지 일들이 잘 풀리게 되면 다시 찾을 수 있겠지. 물론 여행은 항상 나를 행복하게 만드는 삶의 활력소이다.
(Although that, achieving and resetting my bucket list is still continued, I don't think it disappears interest of baseball. Even if it isn't everthing, it will be able to find again if some things go well. Of course, travel is always my tonic that makes me happy.)

짧은 시간인만큼 치열하게 일정을 소화했고, 사실 순수한 관광 목적으로 간 곳이 별로 없다. 뭐, 주목적은 MLB 야구장 투어이니 큰 상관은 없었지만 말이다. 역시 항상 하던 패턴대로, 각 도시별로 순수 관광-야구장-야구 게임 이렇게 글을 써볼까 한다. 나중에 이 글들을 다시 보면 부끄러울 때가 한두번이 아니긴 해도 이렇게 나의 역사가 점점 쌓이는 건 꽤 기분 좋은 일이다.
(I intensely digested my schedules as short time, honestly there aren't some places that go aiming at pure tour. Well, it didn't matter so my main purpose's tour of MLB ballparks. By my pattern that I have written every time, I'm going to post pure tour-ballparks-baseball game each cities. Even though it used to feel shameful whenver I read these posts again later, accumulating my histories like this is pretty good.)
6. [2019 MLB TOUR(3)] 다시 찾은 바람의 도시, 시카고 그리고 야구장 (Chicago, Windy City Where I Have Been With Guaranteed Rate Field Again)
레인저스 경기가 마침 시카고에서 있었던터라 이번 여행의 마지막 도시를 시카고로 결정했다. 저녁 경기였기 때문에 계속 다운타운에 머물면 좋았을텐데 문제는 한국으로 돌아가는 날은 또 새벽 비행기였기에 다운타운이든 공항 근처든 한 곳을 택해야 했는데 그냥 하루는 다운타운, 하루는 공항 근처 호텔에 머물렀다.
사실 처음에는 오헤어 공항 바로 입구에 있는 호텔에 쭉 머무르려고 했으나, 하루는 너무 비싸기도 했고, 다운타운은 원체 비싸니 절충해서 결정한 것이었다. 공항에 있는 힐튼 호텔은 도보로 출국장에 이동할 수 있어서 너무 편했다. 가격대만 맞으면 다음에 시카고에 있을 때도 여기에 있어야겠다 생각할 정도로......
(I selected Chicago by the last city of this travel so game of Rangers just opened in Chicago. Staying at downtown continually would be good due to night game, but I had to decide one place whether it is downtown or near airport cause I had to ride dawn flight in the day that I go back to my country, so I stayed any hotel close downtown in one day, closer airport.
In fact, I considered at hotel located entrance of O'Hare Airport till the end day at the first, however hotel's price of a day was so expensive, ones in downtown are pretty expensive, so I decided to compromise all two methods. Hilton Hotel very close O'Hare Airport is pretty good because it can go to departure gate by walk. As it considers to stay here if its price is reasonable when I visit to Chicago......)
두번째 날 오전, 공항에 있는 힐튼 호텔로 이동하여 체크인을 한 후 다시 점심 시간 정도쯤 시카고 시내로 나오게 되었다. 작년에 밀레니엄 파크에 방문하면서 지나쳤던 곳들이 한번 와봤다고 익숙한 느낌이 들었던데다 여전히 멋진 경관을 자랑하고 있었다.
시간적인 여유가 있었다면, 시카고 도서관에 들어가 건물 내부를 구경할 겸 어마어마한 장서량을 감상하고 오고 싶었으나, 그건 다음 기회로 미루기로 하고, 기라델리 초콜릿과 야구 관련 원서를 한 권 사기 위해 다시 이 곳을 찾았다. 아쉽게도 내가 찾는 책은 없었기에 어쩔 수 없이 초콜릿만 가지고 돌아올 수 밖에 없었다. 회사 동료들과 지인 선물용으로 구입한 초콜릿이 든 쇼핑백이 터질 정도였다는 건 덤...... ㅎㅎㅎ
[In the morning of 2nd day, I moved to Hilton Hotel located at the airport, went out to downtown Chicago at about lunch time again after cheking in. I feel familiar the places where I visited Millenium Park and dropped by whether I have been here once, these things have still been boasting tremedous scene.
If I had some time, I'd like to watch inside building and huge books in Library of Chicago, but I decided to come back one in the next time, I had visited here again for purchasing Ghirardelli Chocolates and an original language edition about baseball. I unfortunately had to come back my country only having chocolates cause there was no book which I found. Well, shopping bags having chocolates which bought for co-workers and friends were heavy...... ;) ]
오리지널 시카고 피자는 어떤 맛일까? 우리나라에서 판매하는 그것과 비슷할까?
작년에 이 곳을 방문했을 때, 아쉽게 시카고 피자를 먹고 오지 못했다. 그래서 이번에는 다른 건 몰라도 시카고 피자는 꼭 먹어보고 오리라 결심하며 다운타운에 이르자마자 피자집만 찾았던 것이다. 푸르덴셜 타워 내에 위치해있던 '지오다노스' 라는 미국 내 프랜차이즈 시카고 피자 전문점을 방문했고, 1인용 세트 메뉴가 있어서 오리지널 시카고 피자와 샐러드, 레모네이드 한 잔을 주문했다.
이렇게 보면 양이 적어 보이지만 실제로는 양이 너무 많아서 배터질 지경이었다. 오리지널 시카고 피자는 우리나라에서 파는 시카고 피자와는 맛이 판이하게 달랐다. 치즈의 풍미는 살아있으면서도 저 소스가 다소 느끼할 수 있는 부분을 확실히 메꿔주고 있었고, 샐러드도 신선했다. 물론 우리나라에서도 많이 먹어본 건 아닌데 소스부터 치즈까지 좀 다르기는 했던 것 같다.
이 곳도 사람이 많아서 웨이팅이 필요한데 점심 시간이 좀 지나기도 했고, 난 혼자라서 금방 앉을 수 있었다.
(How does original Chicago deep Dish Pizza taste? Is it similar comparing with its in my country?
When I visited here last year, I couldn't unfortunately eat Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. So I definitely resolved to come back eating Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, looked for a pizza restaurant as soon as I reach at downtown. I had visited a franchise specialty restaurant of Chicago Deep Dish Pizza within USA called 「Giordano's」 where locates within Prudential Tower, I ordered an original Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and salad and a cup of lemonade for one person.
These things aren't much if it sees by that photos, actually I was full cause it isn't so. Original Chicago Deep Dish Pizza had been very different comparing with its in my country. Flavor of cheeze is full and that sauce made up for cheesy part somewhat, salad was fresh. Of course, I haven't eaten it a lot even in my country though, I felt different from sauce to cheese.
This restaurant needs waiting so there are many people, but it passed lunch time a little and sat down one seat so I was alone.)
기라델리에 가기 위해서는 시카고 리버 워크를 지나쳐야 하는데 다시 돌아온 이 곳은 여전히 인상적이었다. 다만, 이 날은 사람이 너무 많았다. 여기서 개인적으로 가장 좋아하는 건물이 리글리 빌딩이고, 그 다음이 마리나 타워라 열심히 감상하며 연신 셔터를 눌러댔다. 작년에 아키텍처 보트 투어에 참여했었는데 영어 실력이 더 늘어서 들으면 더 도움이 될 것 같아 그 때가 되면 다시 한번 참여해볼 것이다.
더 많은 역사적 사실과 스토리를 들을 수 있겠지?!
(It passes by Chicago Riverwalk for going to Ghirardelli, this place coming back again was still impressive. But there were so many people. My favorite building in individually is Wrigley Building, the next thing is Marina tower, so I took photography over and over again. I participated Architecture boat tour last year, I'll try to participate it next time because I think it gets some help after increasing English skill.
Maybe will I be able to listen more historical facts and stories?)
시카고 화이트 삭스의 홈구장 개런티드 레이트 필드도 여전히 그대로였다. 내가 본 2경기 모두 그들이 이기기도 했는데 솔직히 내 선수가 부상때문에 IL에 있었던 상황이라 뭐 별로 상관없었던 것 같다. 난 역시 팀보다는 선수 팬인가보다. 노마도 그렇고, 놀란도 그렇고 또 포지도 마찬가지로 그들 따라 응원팀이 정해지니...... 예외팀이 워싱턴 내셔널스긴 한데 그래서 애정이 좀 덜한 건 확실히 있다. (물론 월드시리즈에서 우승해서 기쁜 건 나도 마찬가지다!)
시카고에 머물렀던 마지막 날이 금요일이었어서 그런지 이 날은 엘비스 프레슬리 데이였다. 이런 날 종종 일반인 팬들도 함께 동참하여 코스튬을 갖춰입기도 하는데 이런 문화는 참 부럽다. 우리나라는 뭔가 너무 정형화된 느낌이라서......
[Guaranteed Rate Field of home of the Chicago White Sox was still the same by itself. They won all 2 games which I could watch, honestly I thought I didn't matter cause my guy was IL. I'm a fan of players than teams as well. Nomar is so, Nolan is also so, Posey is so, my team depends on them as the same manner...... Exceptional team is Washington Nationals though, my affection is less than my other teams. (Of course, I'm so glad as the same that they won World Series!)
Whether the final day staying Chicago was Friday, this day was Elvis Presley day. Ordinary fans often wear costume with together in this day, I feel envy this culture pretty much. Events of my country are so stereotyped something......]
시카고에서의 첫 날, 3루 덕아웃 바로 옆의 맨 앞자리를 앉을 수 있었기에 사진찍기 괜찮을지 알았으나, 그물망때문에 초점이 너무 안 맞기도 했고, 사람도 많아서 다른 곳으로 이동했다. 내 선수를 찍으려면 1루 쪽이 더 낫기도 했고 말이다.
부상 중이라 노마를 못 볼지 알았는데 얼굴이라도 볼 수 있어서 너무 다행이었다. 경기 뛰는 모습을 볼 수 없었던 건 지금 생각해도 아쉽지만 그래도 얼굴 본 게 어디냐 싶기도 하고..... 게다가 내츠 시절부터 좋아했던 루카스 지올리토도 볼 수 있어 좋았고!!!
(The first day of Chicago, I thought it was decent to take phtography so I sat down seat in the first row next to 3rd dugout, but I couldn't adjust the focus of the camera lens due to net, there were many people near me, so I had moved to another seat. If I take some photos for my guy, seats close 1st base was better.
I thought I wasn't able to see Nomar caused by his injury, however it was fortune that I could see him. I'm also sad now that I couldn't see his play though, good to see him...... Besides I was glad that I saw Lucas Giolito who I have liked when he was in Nats!!!)
이번 여행 마지막 게임은 중앙 쪽의 3루 앞자리로 구매했다. 덕아웃에 있는 우리 선수들 사진을 찍으려면 이 위치가 매우 좋았던 것이다. 가뜩이나 노마와 조이는 IL 중이기도 했고... 덕아웃에 있는 사진만 찍다보니 다 사진이 거기서 거기인 것 같다. 그렇다보니 이번 달력에 넣을 사진은 너무 없고... 이번에는 야구장과 관광지 위주의 사진만 넣던지, 내 선수들은 기존에 찍어놨던 사진들을 활용하던지 해야할 듯 싶다.
(I bought a seat's ticket of between middle and 3rd base in the final game of this travel. This location was very good taking photos for my guys. Moreover Nomar and Joey had been IL...... Photos looks similar caused by taking only ones at dugout. So haven't many photos which put into a new calendar...... I think whether I should put only photos of ballparks and tourist attractions or use previous photos into a new calendar this year.)
여행의 마지막에 다다를때마다 항상 너무나 아쉽고 슬프다. 자주 떠날 수 있는 상황이라면 이렇게 크게 슬프지는 않았을텐데 많아야 1년에 한두번이고, 올해는 딱 1번만 다녀왔으니 더 허전한 기분이 든다. 여러가지 상황으로 인해 내년에도 1번만 가는 걸로 결정했는데 그 나머지 시간은 우리 노마가 야구 잘하고, 놀란도 논란없는 MVP급 활약을 펼쳐서 보상받을 수 있었으면 좋겠다.
(I'm always so wistful and sad whenever it reaches to the end of travel. If I can often leave anywhere, it wouldn't be so sad, but I can go there once or twice a year, besides I have visited there only once, so I'm empty feeling. By some situations, I've decided to go there once next year, so I truly wish Nomar plays very well and Nolan records MVP grade without different view as well.)
* 이제 나이가 들어서 그런지 아니면 바쁘다고 관리를 못해서 그런지 사진을 찍어도 잘 나오지 않는 것 같다. 예전에도 잘 나오는 편은 아니었지만 더더욱 심해진 느낌...... 그래도 추억이니 남겨본다.
(It seems photos taking myself haven't been well whether I get order or have been managing about my look. It hasn't been well before though, it feels worse more and more...... But I put my memory into this post.)
