다람쥐 쳇바퀴 돌아가듯 매일매일 일상을 마주하다보면 우리 삶의 목적이 무엇인지를 자꾸만 잊어버리게 된다. 사는 게 너무 바빠서 혹은 그냥 습관처럼 하루하루를 살아나가는 상황들이 연출이 되곤 하는데 가끔은 이런 상황에서 벗어나 정말 내가 원하는 존재가 된다거나 원하는 곳으로 마냥 떠나고 싶다는 생각을 가지게 될 때가 있다. 내 인생의 주인공은 바로 나 자신이지만 실상은 다른 사람 아니면 다른 어떤 존재를 위해 살고 있는 게 아닐까하는 허탈함에 빠지기도 하고 말이다.
(We put opposite our daily life as squirrel repeat the same thing forever, we forget for what purpose of our life. Living is so busy or it shows situations which are just living as habit day by day, but sometimes it gets out of these situations and I really become success person or I have thinking that I just leave to hoping place. The owner in my life is myself, but also we fall into a state of lethargy that we actually are living for the other person or something.)
매일매일 일상을 반복하던 어느 날 많은 사람들의 분주한 모습을 지켜보면서 내가 왜 이 세상에 태어났는지 그 이유를 알 순 없어도 목적 의식을 얼마나 가지고 살아가고 있는가에 대해 많은 생각을 했던 적이 있었다. 결국은 내가 진정으로 하고 싶은 일을 하면서 좋아하는 사람들과 함께 행복하고 즐겁게 사는 것이 인생의 목표이지 않을까 생각한다. 아마 다른 이들도 마찬가지일 것이고......

나에게는 그 중의 하나가 바로 이 야구장 투어이다. 내 버킷 리스트의 최상단을 차지하고 있으며, 한-미-일의 모든 야구장을 돌아보는 것이 가장 큰 꿈으로써 한국의 야구장은 새로 지어지는 곳만 가면 종료되고, 이제 남은 건 미국과 일본이다. 일본은 거리가 가깝기도 하고, 이미 반 정도는 돌아봤으니 아마도 멀지 않은 시일 내에 마무리될 것으로 보이는데 미국은 최소 10 ~ 15년은 걸리지 않을까 예상하고 있다.
(One of that is just Baseball park tour to me. That ranks the best of my bucket list, By looking around of all ball park of Korea and USA and Japan is the biggest dream, one of my dream comes true if I go to new ball park in Korea, after remaining things are USA and Japan.
I think Japan's ball park tour finishes in not long time cause it is close from here and I already looked around about half of ball park, but I'm expecting to take at least 10 years to 15 years that I look around for all ball park in USA.)
올해 2월 트로피카나 필드를 다녀온 것에 이어 다시 7월 MLB 야구장 투어를 시작했다. 여름 휴가 기간을 이용하여 8박 10일 정도로 계획했었지만 미르가 아팠던 관계로 여행 도중 7박 8일로 일정을 줄일 수 밖에 없었다. 그래도 짧은 시간 내에 알차게 여행한 듯 하지만......
(I went to Tropicana Field of Tampa Bay Rays in February, in succession I restarted MLB ball park tour in July. I made to plan for 10 days and 8 days, but I have to reduce 7 days and 8 nights in period of travel cause Mir was sick. Nevertheless I think I do good traveling well in short time.)

여정을 보니 야구장과 함께 가장 많이 방문한 곳이 공항인 것 같다. 시카고 오헤어 공항은 이번 2월에도 들렀었던 곳이지만 이번 여행 때만 방문한 공항이 총 6곳이다. 가히 야구장 투어라기보다는 공항 투어가 아닐런지...... ㅋ

세 도시를 방문한 만큼 각각의 도시별로 야구장 투어 - 관광 - 야구 게임 이렇게 3가지 주제와 정리글까지 쓰면 아마도 총 10 ~ 12개의 글을 쓰게 될 것 같다. 물론 글에 들어가는 사진보다 더 많은 사진을 보유하고 있고, 이미 편집 정리도 마친 상태이기는 하나, 사진은 블로그 이사 작업을 마친 후에 올리게 되지 않을까 싶다.

10) [2015 MLB TOUR] 피츠버그, 그 아기자기한 매력(Pittsburgh, the harmonious charm)
[피츠버그(Pittsburgh)]
피츠버그는 펜실베니아주에서 두번째로 큰 도시이며, 엘레게니 강과 모논가헬라 강이 합쳐져 오하이오강을 이루는 삼각지대에 위치하고 있다. 골든 트라이앵글이란 말이 여기서 나왔나보다. 저 사진의 중앙이 엘레게니 강, 아래쪽이 모논가헬라 강인 것 같고, 이 두 지류가 사진 좌측 하단처럼 합쳐져서 오하이오 강을 이루는데 엘레게니 강이 오하이오 강과 미시시피 강의 발원지라고 한다.
(Pittsburgh is the second largest city in Pennsylvania state and locates triangle making Ohio river to merge Allegheny river and Monongahela river. I thought 'Golden triangle' saying appeared from here. It looks like Allegheny river in middle of that photo, Monongahela river under of that photo and this two tributary merges like under left of that photo and makes Ohio river, wikipedia said Allegheny river is riverhead of Ohio river and Mississippi river.)
원래 미국이란 나라가 유럽에서 온 이민자들에 의해 세워진 나라기도 하지만 피츠버그의 경우는 철강 등의 근대 산업 발전으로 더 많은 이민자를 끌여들였던 것 같다. 철강 산업의 주요 요충지로써 많은 발전을 이루었지만 그로 인한 환경 오염의 문제와 나날이 성장하는 개발도상국과의 원가 경쟁 때문에 점차 철강 산업이 쇠퇴하였고, 이후 세계적인 산업 재구조화에 동참하게 되면서 교육, 의료, 금융 서비스 산업의 성장을 이끌었고, 현재는 여기에 더해 첨단 기술 산업까지 발전하고 있다고 한다.
예전에 MLB를 모를 때는 피츠버그 하면 떠올린 것이 바로 카네기 멜론 대학교였는데 이 카네기 멜론 대학교는 컴퓨터와 로보틱스에 강점이 있고, 피츠버그 대학교는 생명 공학에 강점이 있다. 또한 주요 고용 창출원이 바로 피츠버그 대학교와 피츠버그 대학병원이라고 한다.
게다가 유명한 대기업의 본사들이 다운타운에 위치하고 있다. H.J. Heinz company, Alcoa Aluminum, Allegheny Technologies, PNC financial Services, PPG Industries, US steel, WESCO International 등이 있는데 PNC bank는 야구장도 야구장이지만 업무 때문에 알 수 밖에 없고, PPG는 전혀 연관되지 않은 곳임에도 많이 들어본 듯...
(Naturally Country called America built by immigrants coming at Europe, but it seemed to attract much more immigrants by development of modern time industry like steel and etc in case of Pittsburgh. This city achieved much development as main strategic point, but steel industry slowly has declined due to environment problem and the cost competition with progressive developing country day by day and after they participated industry reconstitution and led progression of education and medical treatment and finance service industrial, I heard high-technology industry is developing in addition.
When I didn't know MLB before, my head coming about Pittsburgh was Carnegie Mellon University, Carnegie Mellon University has advantaged of computer and robotics and University of Pittsburgh has advantaged of biomedical engineering. Also I heard source of main job creation is University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Besides head office of famous corporation located in downtown. There are H.J. 일단 내가 묵은 곳은 세계적으로 유명한 브랜드의 호텔이었고, 그만큼 내 생애 최고로 많은 돈을 들여 숙박한 곳이 되었다. 강가와 매우 가까운 위치에 PNC 파크도 직선 거리로는 100미터밖에 안되었으며 다운타운에서도 매우 가까운 곳이었다. 사실 호텔을 정할 때 가장 중요하게 생각하는 것이 가격도 가격이지만 교통편과 위치이고, 이 모든 곳을 충족시켜주는 곳임에 틀림이 없었다. 물론 가격은 나에겐 좀 부담이긴 했지만 주위 피츠버그의 숙박 시설이나 교통비, 시간 감안하면 큰 영향은 끼치지 않았던 것 같다.
(Once my staying was a hotel of famous brand in the world and this hotel became staying place most expensive to me as brand name. This hotel located so close with riverside and PNC park was only 100m in a straight line and this one was so close to downtown. In fact, when I select a hotel, thinking of the most important is transportation and location than price, it must have been satisfied place everything. Of course the price was a burden to me, but I thought it didn't exert big influence given that near the Pittsburgh's accommodations or transportation expenses or time.)

유일하게 관광할 수 있었던 두번째 날, 내가 간 곳은 앤디 워홀 뮤지엄과 PNC park 그리고 듀케인 인클라인이었다.
앤디 워홀 뮤지엄은 내가 묵었던 호텔에서 매우 가까운 거리에 있었다. 걸어서 대략 10분 정도 걸렸고, PNC park에서는 게이트에 따라 다르겠지만 대략 5분 정도 거리에 있다고 보면 된다. 피츠버그의 대표적인 관광지가 다운타운 근처에 많이 있어서 좀 더 편하게 이동할 수 있는 것도 장점인데 기간이 짧아서 그 장점을 누리지 못했다는 게 아쉽기 그지 없다.

Andy Warhol museum located so close distance at hotel staying me. It took about 10 minutes by walk and it can see distance about 5 minutes difference according gate at PNC park. Pittsburgh's typical tourist spots have many near the downtown, so moving comfortably more is strength, but I felt something wanting not to enjoy the strength so short time.)
우리도 잘 알고 있는 팝아트의 선구자 앤디 워홀이 바로 이 곳 펜실베니아 피츠버그 출신이다. 1928년에 태어나 1987년까지 수많은 작품을 남긴 그는 일반적인 순수 예술 보다는 보다 대중적이고 상업적인 스타일을 더 선호했다. 산업디자인 전공이기도 하고, 성격 자체도 인기에 신경을 많이 쓴 것 같다. 그런 욕구가 큰 성과를 만든 것인지 2007년 세계 미술 경매 시장에서 내노라하는 아티스트들을 제치고, 낙찰 총액 부분 1위(4억 2천만달러)를 차지했다고 한다. 무려 74점의 작품이 백만달러 이상의 가격에 낙찰되고, 'Green Car Crush'는 6천 4백만 달러(약 624억원)에 낙찰되며 신기록을 작성하기도 했다.

[앤디 워홀 미술관(Andy Warhol Museum)]
안타깝게도 내부의 사진을 찍을 수는 없어서 그냥 눈으로만 감상했다. 위층부터 순서대로 앤디 워홀의 생애와 작품에 대해 10년 정도의 단위로 잘라서 전시한다. 당연히 앤디 워홀이 어디서 태어나고 어떻게 자라왔는지에 대한 설명도 있고, 작품에 대한 설명도 있으며 정해진 스케쥴에 따라 가이드가 안내해주기도 하는데 난 시간이 없어서 대충 둘러볼 수 밖에 없었다.
(Unfortunately I can't take some pictures inside of this place, so I just looked only my eyes. This place is on show to separate 10 years unit from the upper floor to the lower floor about Andy Warhol's life and works. Of course there is explanation about where Andy Warhol was born and how he was growing up and works, staff guides according to fixed schedule, but I shouldn't roughly look around due to lacking time.)
가장 기억에 많이 남는 작품은 '재키'였다. 마릴린 먼로도 아니고, 엘비스 프레슬리도 아니며 앤디 워홀을 가장 유명하게 만든 캠벨 수프캔이나 코카콜라도 아닌 존 F. 캐네디 대통령의 부인 '재클린 케네디 오나시스(Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis)'를 소재로 그린 시리즈이다.
그 이유는 나도 모르겠다. 그냥 처음 봤을 때부터 앤디 워홀 뮤지엄 생각하면 이 '재키' 라는 작품이 떠오른다. 그 이전에는 존 F. 캐네디 대통령의 부인 이름이 '재클린' 이라는 것만 알았으니 더더욱 그 이유를 모르겠다.
(The most memorable work was 'Jackie'. It isn't Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley and Campbell's Soup Cans or Coca-Cola, it is series which draw material for Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis who is wife of President John F. Kennedy.
I don't know why. If I think Andy Warhol museum at first sight, I come into my head work called 'Jackie'. Before I knew President John F. Kennedy's wife name is only Jacqueline, so I don't know why even more.)
PNC 파크 투어는 이미 따로 글을 썼으니 넘어가고, 그 다음 이동한 코스는 야경을 가장 아름다운 포인트에서 감상할 수 있는 곳, 듀케인 인클라인이었다. 야경 보는 것을 너무 좋아해서 원래는 경기 끝나고 가고 싶었지만 아무리 무식하고 용감하다해도 여자 혼자의 몸으로 가기는 좀 무리라는 생각이 들었고, 운행 시간도 몰랐었기 때문에 낮에 가기로 결정했다.
(I already posted about PNC park tour's writing separately, so it pass, the next course was Duquesne Incline where can look night scene at the most beautiful point. I love looking night scene, so I want to go after game over, but no matter how ignorant and brave I am, I thought it was possible going a woman alone more and I didn't know running time, I determined to go at daytime.)
[듀케인 인클라인(Duquesne Incline)]
듀케인 인클라인(Duquesne Incline)은 피츠버그 남쪽 인근의 워싱턴 산에 있는 케이블 철도 노면 혹은 경사면 철도를 오르는 케이블 카를 운영하는 곳이라고 보면 될 것 같다. 번역을 정확히 어떻게 해야할지 모르겠어서 이 정도의 개념으로만 이해하면 되지 않을까 싶다.
과거 19세기에는 증기력을 이용한 케이블카로 화물을 높은 곳까지 나르기 위해 사용했지만 나중에는 높은 곳까지 걸어서 올라가야 하는 주민들도 태우기 시작했다. 1962년에 경영난 때문에 문을 닫았다가 Duquesne Heights 주민들의 모금행사로 인해 1963년 재오픈되었다. 현재 피츠버그의 골든 트라이앵글을 가장 잘 볼 수 있는 곳으로 유명한 관광지가 되었고, 또 다른 뷰포인트로 모논가헬라 인클라인(Monongahela Incline)이 있다.
(I think Duquesne Incline is an inclined plane located near Pittsburgh south side neighborhood at Mt. Washington or the one manage cable car scaling an inclined plane railroad. I don't know exactly how translation should do, so I think it understands only this concept.
That was used by cable car using steam power to carry cargo up 19th century, but that started to ride residents who should walk to the top later. The incline was closed as financial problem in 1962 and it reopened according to Duquesne Heights residents' fund-raising in 1963. For now Duquesne Incline became famous tourist attraction that the place where is the most viewable for Golden triangle of Pittsburgh, the other view point is Monongahela Incline.)
여기서는 많은 정보를 찾을 수가 없어서 언제 이 곳을 방문할지 결정하지 못했었는데 새벽 12시 40분이 마지막인지 알았으면 그냥 과감하게 경기 후에 갔을지도 모르겠다. 다시 그 때로 돌아가도 많은 고민을 했겠지만.......

[케이블카 타고 올라가는 길(The way of upper riding cable car)]
케이블카를 타고 듀케인 인클라인의 상부역에 도착하면 사진들을 포함한 피츠버그의 역사와 전 세계에 있는 인클라인의 정보까지 볼 수 있고, 한쪽에는 기념주화 판매기가 있어 원하는 그림을 선택하면 몇 초 후에 원하는 동전이 나온다. 비싸지는 않지만 당연히 유료이다.
케이블카 입구를 등지고 오른쪽으로 나가면 바로 전망대가 나오고, 테라스처럼 되어있어서 그 곳에서 피츠버그의 전경을 감상할 수 있다. 듀케인 인클라인은 엘레게니 강의 주위, 즉 PNC 파크, 다운타운, 피츠버그 포인트 주립 공원부터 하인즈 필드 등의 오하이오강 부근까지 볼 수 있는 곳이다. 낮에 봐도 이렇게 아름다운데 야경을 볼 수 있었으면 정말 많은 감동을 받았을 것 같다.
다음에 갈 때는 듀케인 인클라인 야경을 보고, 낮에는 모논가헬라 인클라인 쪽으로 가서 모논가헬라 강 주위의 전경을 감상해 봐야겠다.
(If it rides cable car and arrives in Duquesne Incline's upper station, we can see Pittsburgh's history including photos and inclines's information in around the world and there was souvenir coin machine and if you select hoped-for picture, the coin comes out after a few second. It isn't expensive but of course it is small charge.
If it goes to the right your back toward cable car entrance, it see the observatory and this place was became like terrace, so it can appreciate Pittsburgh's whole view there. Duquesne Incline is place where can look from PNC park and downtown and Point state park in Pittsburgh near the Allegheny river to Heinz Field and etc near the Ohio river. It is so beautiful in daytime, but if I can look night view, I was extremely impressed.
Next time when I go, I'll look Duquesne Incline's night view and I'll go way to Monongahela Incline and appreciate whole view of near the Monongahela river.)

원래 도시의 야경이 아름다울 수 밖에 없는 것이 건물에서 새어나오는 빛이 한데 어우러져 조화를 이루기 때문인데 피츠버그의 야경은 그것 외에도 뭔가 새로운 매력이 있는 것 같다. 3개의 강을 끼고 있는 점도 그렇고, 고풍스러운 건물과 현대적인 건물들이 어우러져 과거 유럽과 현재 미국을 함께 떠올리게 하며 근대 역사를 봐도 항구를 이용하여 무역이 활발하게 이루어지면서 다리가 많이 만들어진 것도 한 몫 하지 않나 싶다.
PNC 파크 투어할 때 직원분이 말씀하시길 피츠버그에는 600개가 넘는 다리가 있다고 했고, 정말 지나다니는 곳곳에 다리가 자주 보이는데 이 다리 모양과 색 마저도 딱 피츠버그다운 느낌을 준다.
(City's night scene really is beautiful why it is in harmony combination with glimmer to shine through in building, but I think Pittsburgh's night scene has new charm in addition. Pittsburgh locates near three rivers and it recalls together with the past Europe and the present America harmonize vintage buildings and modern buildings, I think the reasons are trade actively reach through port and the many bridges were made.
When I tour at PNC park, the staff said there are many bridges more than 600 in Pittsburgh and bridge can often see everywhere on my way, it just gives a feeling like Pittsburgh even the bridge's shape and color.)

이렇게 7박 8일의 짧은 여행은 마무리되었다. 역시 여행 마무리의 백미는 야경인 것 같다. 진한 아쉬움은 있지만 마지막 추억의 한 조각을 가장 아름답게 만들어주는 매개체가 바로 야경이 아닌가 생각해본다.
(Short travel of 8 days and 7 nights was finished like this. I think tour the best ending is night scene, either. It remains deep regrettable, but I just think night scene that is medium the most beautifully made of a piece of final memory.)

[저 붉은색 티셔츠를 입은 분들이 푸에르토리코에서 온 관광객이었던 것 같다. 그 중 어느 가족이 나에게 같이 기념 촬영을 하자고 요청했는데 어머니가 두 아들을 위해 용기를 내신 것 같다. 왜 그 10대 아이들은 나와 사진을 찍고 싶었는지는 모르겠지만... ㅎㅎㅎ
(People who wear that red tee-shirts looks like coming form Puerto Rico. One family of them requested to have commemorative photographing with me and I thought mother had a courage for two sons.
