버킷 리스트를 달성하기 위해 달려온지도 벌써 3년째......
미르가 떠난 후 이제 나에게 남은 건 MLB 야구와 이 버킷 리스트 뿐이라 어려운 상황임에도 불구하고 올해도 나의 인생 계획을 실행해 나가기로 했고, 그렇게 4월 11일부터 4월 22일까지 다소 짧은 기간동안 미국 캘리포니아 주로 여행을 떠났다. 2015년은 플로리다 템파, 밀워키, 캔사스시티, 피츠버그 등 미국 중남부 지역, 2016년 작년은 필라델피아와 피츠버그(2번째), 마이애미, 텍사스 주 알링턴과 달라스 그리고 포트워스, 워싱턴 DC, 뉴욕, 세인트루이스 등 미국 동남부지역과 중부지역을 다녀왔으니 캘리포니아 주는 이번이 첫 여행이었던 것이다.
적당한 더위는 몰라도 원체 무더위를 싫어하는 편이라서 캘리포니아 지역은 나중으로 계속 미뤄두고 있었다. 허나, 마침 4월이라는 이른 시기였고, 정치적으로 민감한 미국 상황상 그래도 리버럴이 많은 캘리포니아 주가 나름 편안할 것 같아 어렵지 않게 결정하게 되었다.

Because the thing that lately remains to me after Mir passed away is just this bucket list, even though it's tough situation to me, I decided to execute my life plan likewise this year, left to California of USA for a little period from Apr, 11 to Apr, 22 like that. I've been to central-southern state of USA where were Tampa(Florida) and Milwaukee(Wisconsin) and Kansas City(Missouri) and Pittsburgh(Pennsylvania) and etc in 2015, to eastern-southern and central state of USA where were Philadelphia and Pittsburgh(the 2nd time) of Pennsylvania and Miami(Florida) and Arlington and Dallas and Fort Worth(Texas) and Washington DC and New York and St. Louis(Missouri) and etc last year in 2016, tour of California state has been the first journey this year.
I naturally hate swelter a lot except suitable heat weather, so I've been postponed California tour later. But It was finally early time being April and it looked like comfortable atmosphere cause I thought California state has a lot of liberals, so I could decide not difficulty.)

더 많은 관광지를 방문할 계획이었으나 나리타 공항에서 환승하는 도중 delay되었고, LA 공항에서 애너하임까지 이동할 때 러시아워로 인해 오랜 시간이 걸렸으며 체크인 시간까지 지연되는 등 첫날부터 여러가지 이슈들로 인해 체력적으로 너무 지쳐서 애너하임에서는 아주 중요한 일정만 남기고 다 취소해야했다. 주목적은 MLB 야구장 투어였기에 과감하게 버릴 수 있었던 것이다.
항상 하던대로 여행-볼파크 투어-야구 경기 등 세 챕터로 나눠 리뷰를 쓸 예정이지만 샌디에고 여행, 샌프란시스코 여행, 펫코 파크 투어, AT&T 파크 투어, 텍사스 레인저스의 애너하임 어웨이 게임, 다저 스타디움과 경기, 샌프란시스코 자이언츠와 콜로라도 로키스 게임, 텍사스 레인저스의 오클랜드 어웨이 게임, 정리까지 중요한 이벤트 위주로 글을 쓰게 되면 대충 13개 정도로 마무리지을 수 있을 것 같다.
(I planed to visit much more tourist attractions, but I was so tired physically by some issues cause it was delayed transfer to LAX in Narita Intl' Airport and It was rush hour when I moved from LAX to Anaheim, it was delayed even check-in, I cancelled all tour schedules except only very important schedule in Anaheim. Main goal was MLB ball Park tour, so I could dramastically erase.
I'm going to post reviews to divide three chapters of tour-ball park tour-baseball game like I always did, however I'll be able to end about 13 writing if it posts San Diego tour, San Francisco tour, Petco Park tour, AT&T Park tour, away games of Texas Rangers in Anaheim, Dodger stadium and game, games of San Francisco and Colorado Rockies, away games of Texas Rangers in Oakland, a close writing.)
4. [MLB BALL PARK TOUR(13)] 펫코 파크 : 샌디에고 파드레스의 홈구장 (Petco Park : Home of the San Diego Padres)
[펫코 파크(Petco Park)]
샌디에고 파드레스의 홈구장이자 WBC로 인해 우리에게도 친숙한 펫코 파크는 메이저리그에서 가장 아름다운 야구장 중 하나로 꼽힌다. PNC 파크, AT&T 파크, 부시 스타디움 등 어째 너무 최상위권 야구장만 찾아다니는 거 아닌가 싶을 정도인데 전혀 의도한 게 아니라는 것을 분명히 말해두고 싶다. ;)
펫코 파크는 2004년에 새로 개장하였고 대표적인 투수 친화구장이라 외야수들의 수비 범위와 송구가 매우 중요하다. 엄청난 투수 친화적인 환경을 개선하기 위해 2012년에 우-좌중간을 3.4~3.7m(11~12 feet)를 당겨 우타자에게는 다소 나은 환경이 조성되었으나, 외야가 넓고 해발고도 0m에 환경적으로 해안가에 위치하면서 소금기를 먹은 바람의 영향이 더해져 타구가 잘 뻗지 않는다고 한다. 그래서 투수들에게는 좋은 곳이지만 타자들이 선호하지 않는 구장이기도 하다.
(Petco Park where is home of the San Diego Padres and friendly place to me by WBC is considered one of the most beautiful ball park in MLB. It's like I have been going to only highest rankings of PNC Park and AT&T Park and Busch Stadium and etc, nevertheless I certainly want to say what isn't intention at all. :)
Petco Park newly has opened in 2004 and is the place where defense range and throwing of outfield are very important due to ball park of representable pitcher-friendly. It has moved forward 3.4 to 3.7m(11 to 12 feet) about right and left-center to process from environment of very pitcher-friendly in 2012, it has been made a little better environment to right batter, is large outfield and 0m of sea level and adds salty wind's influence due to that locates at waterfront, so batted ball doesn't fly well. So this place is good to pitchers, batters isn't favorite on the other hand.)

나에게 LA 근교 여행 코스 중 가장 중요한 일정이 바로 이 펫코 파크 투어였다. 여행 일정이 바뀌면서 투어 티켓값을 좀 날리긴 했으나(날짜와 시간대가 어긋나면서... 환불도 안됨), 그래도 꼭 가야겠다는 일념 하나로 모든 어려움을 이겨내고 이 코스를 소화해내고야 말았던 것이다!!!
펫코 파크 투어는 낮경기가 열리는 날을 제외하고는 매일 대부분 10:30, 12:30, 3:00 이렇게 하루에 3번 진행이 되는데 난 12:30 투어 상품을 이용했다. 첫 코스부터 그라운드로 들어갔고, 여러 설명을 들으며 덕아웃에도 들어갈 수 있었다. 좀 오래되기도 했고, 영어 실력이 좋지 않아서 어떤 설명을 들었는지 거의 기억이 나지 않는다.
(The most important schedule of tour course near LA to me was just Petco Park tour. My tour schedule has changed and I blow tour ticket's price a little(date and time was dislocated... No refund), but I overcame all difficulty with a whole heart that will certainly come and tried to achieve this work!!!
Petco Park tour proceed three times of 10:30 and 12:30 and 3:00 per a day except opening day game, I had used tour of 12:30. At the first course, we came on the ground and listened some explanation and could enter in dugout. I don't almost remember that listened which explanation so It passed much time and my English lacks.)

실내로 이동하여 실내 배팅 훈련장과 클럽 하우스를 들어갈 수 있었다. 여태까지 MLB 구장 투어를 하면서 클럽 하우스에 들어간 건 이 때 처음이었다. 그 대신 3루 클럽하우스를 개방하는데 이 날은 어차피 파드레스가 어웨이 게임 중이었어서 1루 쪽을 개방해도 별 상관은 없었겠다 싶다.
클럽하우스를 둘러보다가 문 윗 쪽에 갑자기 낯익은 문자가 눈에 들어왔다. "금연"
샌디에고 파드레스에 한국인 선수가 없었던 걸로 알고 있었는데 알고 보니 박찬호 선수가 예전에 잠깐 이 팀에 있었나보다. 그래서 그 분이 쓴 거 아닐까 싶기도 하고... 쓸거면 이쁘게 잘 좀 쓰시지!!! :)
하지만 그 옆에 중국어와 일본어로도 쓰여져 있는 것을 보니 선수들이 쓰진 않았을지도 모르겠다.
(We moved to indoor, could enter into batting cage and clubhouse. The thing that I can enter into clubhouse in ball park tour so far was the first at this moment. They open clubhouse of the 3rd base ways instead of that, it wouldn't be no matter if it opens the 1st base ways cause San Diego Padres was playing away games in this day.
I looked around in clubhouse, couldn't suddenly see familiar word on the top door. "금연"
I had known there was no Korean player in San Diego Padres, but I knew the fact that Chan Ho Park was belong this team for a short time before. So I thought he wrote the word... it would be better, if it was good handwriting!!! :)
But when it saw words which was wrote in Chinese and Japanese in the next, maybe players didn't write that.)

통로를 거닐면서 보는 외부 풍경도 참 아름답다. 펫코 파크 자체가 도심에 있고, 해안가에서 아주 가까우며 철로도 바로 근처에 있는데다 컨벤션 센터, 상업 건물 등이 구장 주위를 둘러싸고 있어 보는 각도에 따라 다양한 분위기를 느낄 수 있다. 역시 도시의 주요 건물을 건설할 때는 주위 환경과의 조화도 꼭 고려해야 한다.
(Outside view that walks passageway and watches is also so pretty. Petco Park locates at downtown and is very close from coast and has railroad and surrounds convention center and commercial building near this place, so it can feel various atmosphere by the angle seeing. It must consider harmony with surrounding environment when main building of city builds.)

구장 정중앙 상단에 위치한 프레스 박스는 여느 야구장과 크게 다를바는 없다. 그래도 15년이 다 되어가는 구장이 이렇게 깨끗하고 깔끔할 수 있는지 새삼 다르게 느껴진다. 게다가 하루에 세번씩 이렇게 일반인 투어 프로그램이 있고, 단체는 따로 또 할 수 있다고 하니 많은 사람들이 이 곳을 찾을텐데도 새 구장처럼 깔끔한 것이 참 놀랍다. 아마 그만큼 관리도 철저히 했겠지.......
구장 투어를 하면서 항상 빠질 수 없는 것이 중앙에서 본 야구장 전체샷을 남기는 일인 것 같다. 경기가 열릴 때 최상단 좌석에 앉아 보는 풍경이 훨씬 더 아름답긴 하겠지만 나처럼 경기에 집중하며 사진을 찍는 사람들은 그 좌석에 앉아서 경기를 볼 수가 없다. 그래서 이 때 아니면 이 샷을 찍을 기회가 별로 없는 듯.......

Besides there's a tour program of visitors per 3 times a day, it can seperately do group tour, even though many people visit here, I'm pretty surprised about that is tidy like new ball park. Maybe they've hardly been managing as much......
I think the thing that I always have to do in the middle of ball park tour is what remains photo of whole ball park's scene to sight in the center of ball park. Scene to watch sitting at the upper deck's seat will be much more beautiful when game opens, but people who focuses on game and takes some pictures like me can't watch game sitting at the seat. So there isn't almost opportunity that can take photography this shot nor this time......)

펫코 파크의 특이한 부분이 외야 좌측에 있는 Western Metal Supply Co. 라고 적힌 건물이다. 원래 처음 구장을 지을 때 이 건물을 철거하려고 했었는데 100년이 넘은 건물인만큼 1978년에 역사 기념물(사적)로 지정되어있어 보수 정도만 한 후 나머지 건물을 세웠다고 한다. 처음 볼 때 저 건물이 이질적이란 느낌은 전혀 없었는데 투어 시작 때 그라운드에서 가이드가 설명해주던 것이 이 부분이었던 것 같다. 뭔가 낡았으면서도 빈티지하고 멋스러운 느낌이라 더 인상적이었다.
그래서 현재 바(bar)와 명예의 전당, 기프트샵을 포함하고 있는 이 건물은 외야석으로 사용되고 있고, 발코니 쪽으로 나가서 식사나 음료를 하며 경기를 구경할 수도 있다. 투어의 막바지에 우리가 들어간 곳이 바로 이 곳이었던 것......
(Special part of Petco Park's building written 「Western Metal Supply Co.」 in left outfield. When it originally built at the first, they tried to demolish this building, but it built extra design's structure after only renovating cause this one has been declared a historic landmark in 1978 as building over 100 years old. I didn't feel foreignly at all when I saw first time, it looked like the part that guide explained on the ground when tour started was just this one. I was impressive due to something old and vintage and fascinating feeling.
So this building is used outfield seat with bar and Hall of fame and gift shop presently, it eats food or drink going to the balcony and can watch game. The place where we enter was just this one......)

펫코 파크 투어의 마지막 코스는 샌디에고 파드레스 팀과 주요 선수들의 자료를 볼 수 있는 명예의 전당이었다. 이 곳은 따로 담당자가 있어 설명을 약간 해주고 다 둘러볼 수 있게 시간을 주던데 역시나 무슨 내용을 말했는지는 기억이 나지 않는다.
규모는 작지만 주제별로 깔끔하게 정리가 되어있어서 보기 편했고, 중간에 있는 큰 네온 사인의 배치와 디자인이 참으로 마음에 들었다. 전체적으로 디자인에 관심이 많아서 그런지 내용보다 이런 부분이 더 눈에 띈다. :)
샌디에고 파드레스에서 내가 아는 선수는 대타자이자 명예의 전당 헌액자인 토니 그윈과 메이저리그 역사상 최고의 클로저였던 트레버 호프만이다. 물론 이 때 MLB를 자세히 볼 때는 아니라서 정확히 알지는 못하지만 최소한 대단한 선수들이라는 건 알고 있었고 그들의 정보를 이 곳에서 자세히 볼 수 있다.
(The final course of Petco park was Hall of Fame that can see data of San Diego team and their main players. There's a staff to charge here, so he explains some information and gives some times to look all, I didn't remember what did he tell, too.
Scale was a small, but it looked good that neatly have been tidy thematically, I liked pretty arrangement and design of a big neon sign in the middle. Whether I'm generally interested in design a lot, it stands out this part more than contents. :)
The players that I know in San Diego Padres are Tony Gwynn who was great batter and is Hall of famer and Trevor Hoffman who was the best closer in MLB history. Of course, I don't know them well so I didn't watch MLB a lot then, but I've known they were great players already and it can see their information in detail here.)

야구장 외부 환경마저도 아름다운 펫코 파크...
펫코 파크는 복고풍의 붉은 벽돌과 푸른 좌석으로 이루어진 다른 야구장들과는 달리 인디언 사암과 벽토로 둘러싸여있고, 흰색 페인트가 칠해진 철 구조물과 4만여석의 다크 블루 좌석들이 조화를 이루고 있다. 이 디자인은 샌디에고의 절벽과 해변의 색상 그리고 푸른 바다, 베이 근처에 있는 보트의 하얀 돛을 상징한다.
이로 인해 음식점들과 행정 기관, 기타 편의 시설들이 이 곳으로 모여들면서 경기가 없는 날에도 콩코스를 개방한다고 한다. 특별 관람석에서는 좌측 외야 좌석 너머로 샌디에고 베이와 스카이 라인이 어우러진 장면을 볼 수 있고, 중앙 너머로는 샌디에고 동물원이 있는 발보아 파크의 장면을 볼 수 있다고 한다.
비시즌이나 오프일 또는 어웨이 게임을 할 때는 다른 스포츠 게임과 공연도 열린다. 스포츠의 경우 2007년은 럭비 세계대회, 2014년은 테니스 대회 중 데이비스컵, 2015년은 모터사이클 대회 중 AMA 수퍼크로스 챔피언쉽, 대학 농구대회가 열린 적이 있고, 2005년에 롤링 스톤즈, 2008년에 마돈나, 2011년에 아메리칸 아이돌, 2014년에 폴 매카트니, 2015년에 테일러 스위프트 공연이 열렸었다.

Petco Park is clad in Indian sandstone and stucco differently with another ball parks where were built red brick of retro-style and green seats, it's harmonized with steel is painted white color and dark blue seats of 40-thousand. This design is meant to evoke sandy color of San Diego cliffs and beaches, the blue of ocean, the white sails of boats on the nearby bay.
According to this, this ball park's concourse is open even no game to gather restaurants and administrative offices and etc amenities. It can sight view of San Diego Bay and the San Diego skyline beyond the left field seats and view of Balboa park where contains San Diego Zoo beyond center field in the grandstands.
When it's off-season or off-day or away game, another sports game and show is opened. It's been opened rugby competition in 2007, Davis cup of tennis in 2014, AMA Supercross Championship of motorcycle competition in 2015, college basketball competition in case of sports, has been opened show like Rolling Stones in 2005, Madonna in 2008, American Idol in 2011, Paul McCartney in 2014, Tylor Swift in 2015.)

샌디에고 파드레스의 마제스틱 팀스토어는 규모도 크고 상품도 굉장히 많다. 게다가 앞에 언급한 것처럼 웨스턴 메탈 빌딩 내부에 자리잡고 있어 인테리어 자체도 굉장히 고풍스럽고 매력적이다.
산타 페 디포역으로 돌아가려고 트롤리 정거장을 가는 도중에 갑자기 기념품 생각이 나서 다시 이 곳으로 되돌아왔고, 몇 가지 기념품을 구입하였다. 더 오래 진득하게 둘러보고 싶었으나, LA로 갈 암트랙을 타야했기 때문에 대충 보고 나올 수 밖에 없었다.
(Majestic team store San Diego Padres is a big scale and there are so many goods. Besides this one is inside of The Western Metal Supply Co. Building, so interior decoration is also great antique and attractive.
I suddenly thought souvenirs on my way to trolley stop to return Santa Fe Depot station, had returned to this store, then I purchased some souvenirs. I'd like to look around here in detail, but I should roughly look and go because I had to ride Amtrak to LA.)
펫코 파크 투어에 대해 크게 기대하지는 않았고, 다른 명소들도 마찬가지였는데 다소 많은 시간과 노력을 들여 샌디에고에 다녀오길 참 잘한 것 같다는 생각이 들었다. 게임을 볼 수 있었다면 더 좋았을테지만 이렇게 큰 감명을 받은 만큼 다음 기회가 있으리라 믿는다. 물론 못 가본 MLB 야구장을 다 돌아본 후에 다시 찾게 될 가능성이 크긴 하지만 정말 꼭 다시 방문하고 싶은 도시 중에 하나가 되었다.
(I didn't expect a lot about Petco Park tour, another tourist attractions were so, but I thought I did good that goes to expend a little more times and effort to San Diego. If I could watch baseball game, it would be better, anyway I believe it has the next opportunity as I'm impressive a lot. Of course, it's quite probable that revisits San Diego after all going to MLB ball parks where hasn't ever been, however it became one of the cities where certainly want to revisit again.)
