『한 여자가 에메랄드 빛의 해안을 보며 끝도 없이 펼쳐진 백사장을 조용히 걷고 있었다. 한 손에는 카메라를 들고, 다른 한 손으로 새하얀 솜뭉치처럼 보이는 몰티즈의 어깨끈을 쥐며 느릿느릿 그 사이를 가로지르고 있다. 때마침 붉은 석양이 드리우며 그녀의 발걸음을 멈추게 만들었고, 몰티즈와 함께 잠시 백사장에 주저앉아 수평선을 지그시 바라보며 카메라 셔터를 누르기 시작한다. 그 순간, 누군가가 다가와 그 둘을 넓고 든든한 어깨로 감싸주었고, 그렇게 그들은 따스한 속삭임을 주고 받으며 다시 백사장 한쪽 끝을 향해 걸어가기 시작했다.』
삶의 여유 그리고 자유를 꿈꾸다보면 항상 이런 모습들을 그리곤 한다. 바다, 해변, 강아지, 로맨틱한 풍경, 카메라 등등...... 아마도 인생의 축소판이라고 볼 수 있는 여행이란 단어가 나에게 그러한 여유로움과 자유를 안겨주는 주된 요소이지 않을까하는 생각이 든다. 지금으로선 미르를 다시 만날 수 없는 상황이지만 천국에서 나중에 미르와 재회하고, 사랑하는 사람과도 합류하게 되면 저런 따스한 풍경이 펼쳐질 것이라 믿어보며 이 글을 시작해본다.

Dreaming composure of life and liberty, I've always used to draw like this. Ocean, beach, dog, romantic view, camera, etc...... Maybe It seems a word 'travel' can speak microcosm of life is an element that gives composure and liberty like that to me. It's a situation can't meet Mir again for now, but if I meet with Mir later and also join with loved one in heaven, I believe I can see wonderful view like that and start to post this writing.)

상황이 상황인지라 가성비 좋은 여행을 계획하여 이번에도 가보지 못한 4군데의 야구장을 돌아보며 나름 관광지도 알차게 찾아다닐 수 있었다. 여행을 다녀온 이후 미국 동부와 중부, 서부 그리고 한국까지 짧은 기간 안에 넘나드느라 가뜩이나 약해진 체력이 더 떨어지면서 시차 적응에 애를 먹은 건지 아니면 건강이 많이 안 좋아진 것인지 확실한 이유는 알 수 없지만 병원을 수시로 들락날락할 정도로 아프기도 했다. 그래도 이 여행에 대해서 후회는 없는 것이 여행 중에는 아픈 적이 전혀 없었기 때문에 돌아오는 것 자체가 나에게 더 스트레스로 다가오지 않았을까 싶고, 이게 더 설득력 있는 요인으로 느껴진다.
항상 그래왔듯이 관광, MLB 볼파크, 야구, 정리글까지 이렇게 나눠서 기록해볼 예정이고, 30개 구장(도시까지)을 모두 돌아보고 참고 자료를 조금 더 축적한 이후 이 자료들을 가지고 나만의 책을 한번 만들어보고 싶다는 생각이 든다. 판매 목적이 아닌 내 스스로 만들어나간 역사 그 흔적을 남기기 위해서......
(I planned cost-effective travel so my situation isn't good, had looked around 4 ball parks where I have never gone this time and could worthily look tourist attractions as my idea. After going back from travel, I can't know sure cause whether weak strength gets lower and I couldn't adjust jet leg so I had gone all the eastern and central and western area of US within short time or my health got worse pretty much, I've been sick as frequently going in and out of hospital. But the reason that has no regret about this travel is what had never been sick in middle that time at all, I thought coming back here by itself gave any more stresses to me, I feel this is more reasonable cause.
As I did so, I'm going to write dividing to the part of sightseeing and MLB ball parks and baseball and ending story, I've thought I would like to make only my book for using these materials after I all go to 30 ball parks(including cities) and accumulate more reference materials. For leaving trace of the history that I have been creating by myself not purpose of sale......)
9. [MLB TOUR(19)] 프로그레시브 필드 : 클리블랜드 인디언스의 홈구장 (Progressive Field : Home of the Cleveland Indians)
[프로그레시브 필드 외부 (Outside Progressive Field)]
클리블랜드 인디언스의 홈구장 프로그레시브 필드가 내가 미국에서 방문한 19번째 구장으로 오하이오 주에 위치한 곳이다. 1994년 개장한 곳으로 아름다운 전광판과 높은 외야 펜스를 자랑하고 있고, 투타 모두에게 공평한 중립 구장이라고 볼 수 있으며, 근처에 이리호가 있어 경기장에 안개가 자주 낀다고 한다.
가장 아름다운 야구장으로 꼽히는 PNC 파크, AT&T 파크, 펫코 파크, 펜웨이 파크, 오리올스 파크처럼 이 곳 역시 은근 현지 팬들에게 꽤 좋다는 이야기를 들었고, 이 곳을 방문하고 나서야 왜 그런 말을 했는지 비로소 알 수 있었다.
(Progressive Field being Home of the Cleveland Indians is the 19th ball park I visited in US, locates Ohio. It opened in 1994, boats beautiful electronic scoreboard and high outfield fence, it can see a neutrality ball park impartial to all pitcher and hitter, it's often foggy in the stadium due to Lake Erie near here.
I heard it is quietly good one pretty from native fans like PNC Park and AT&T Park and Petco Park and Fenway Park and Orioles Park being considered the most beautiful ball park, I could know why they said like that at last after visiting this place.)
[프로그레시브 필드 외부 (Outside Progressive Field)]
처음 클리블랜드 다운타운에 도착했을 때의 감상은 참 고요하고 조용한 곳이구나라는 것이었다. 물론 다른 곳에서도 비슷한 느낌을 받기는 했으나, 돌아다녀보면 잘 가꿔진 소도시이면서도 뭔가 빈티지한 유럽의 모습도 엿보인다고 해야 할까... 밀워키 다운타운과 약간 비슷해 보였다. 하긴 미국의 많은 도시들을 유럽 이민자들이 만들어온만큼 당연한 일일지도 모르겠다.
프로그레시브 필드가 다운타운에 접해 있어서 더 조화로운 느낌이었고, 이렇게 우측 외야 입구에 볼거리들이 있다. 자세히 보지는 않았으나, 클리블랜드에서 영구결번된 투수이자 93.8%로 명예의 전당에 헌액된 밥 펠러, 니그로 리그와 메이저 리그를 모두 뛰었던 래리 도비(배테랑 위원외로부터 명예의 전당에 헌액, 역시 영구결번), 이 곳에서 감독과 선수를 모두 지내고 77.33%로 명예의 전당에 헌액된 루 브드로(영구결번)와 역시 감독과 선수를 모두 지낸 프랭크 로빈슨(역시 Hall of famer, 레즈와 오리올스 영구결번)의 동상이 있으며 클리블랜드 인디언스의 우승에 대한 내용을 새긴 기념물들이 있다.
{When I arrived in Cleveland downtown at first, it was a place where is pretty silent and quite. Of course, I felt alike another city, but if it walks around, can say well-maintained city and showing image of vintage Euro... It was likely Milwaukee downtown. It'll be sure thing as European migrants has been making many cities of US.
It felt more harmonious so Progressive Field being in downtown, there are some informations about Cleveland Indians near entrance of the right field like this. I didn't see it in detailed, but there are statues of some players like Bob Feller who was retired number and entered into Hall of fame by voting 93.8%, Larry Doby who played all Negro and Major League(entered into Hall of fame by Veteran's committee, also retired number), Lou Boundreau who played all player and manager and entered hall of fame by voting 77.33%(retired number), Frank Robinson who played all player and manager(also hall of famer, retired number of Reds and Orioles), there are memorials carved content about win of Cleveland Indians.)

원래 구장 투어 프로그램에 참여하고 싶었으나, 아무래도 인디언스가 비인기팀이라 그런지 어웨이 게임이나 오프 데이에 투어를 진행하는 것 같았다. 말린스도 그랬었는데, 하긴 사람도 없는데 매일 운영할 순 없겠지...... 그래서 구장 투어에 참여할 수 없는 구장의 경우는 외부를 한바퀴 쭉 둘러보고 난 이후 안에 들어가서 또 내부를 한바퀴 둘러본다.
프로그레시브 필드 자체는 실제 이 방향이 가장 매력적인 것 같다. 고속도로가 있는 쪽이라 순수하게 야구장 모습을 찍을 수는 없는 게 탈이지만 뭐 사실 다른 많은 구장도 그렇기는 하니까......
(I wanted to participate in tour program from the first, it looks like tour schedule proceeds in away game day or off day whether Indians is non-popular team. Marlins was so, it won't be able to proceed everyday cause there aren't many people who participated in tour...... So in case I can't participate in tour program, I always look around outside ball park, inside one in the next time.
Progressive Field actually feels the most attractive about this way. A little problem's what I can't purely take photography only ball park's image, condition of another ball parks are similar in fact......)
[헤리티지 파크 (Heritage Park)]
이 곳의 존재를 몰랐다가 마지막 날에 직원분이 아래에 내려가면 좋은 걸 볼 수 있다고 말씀해주셔서 보니 이런 숨겨진 보석같은 장소가 있었다. 물론 나도 메이저리그를 본지 아주 오래된 팬은 아니라서 역사나 옛날 선수들을 잘 모르지만 그래도 이런저런 책이나 야구 중계 방송 중에 들었던 낯익은 이름들이 있어 재미나게 볼 수 있었던 것 같다.
클리블랜드 인디언스는 신시내티 레즈나 디트로이트 타이거즈, 미네소타 트윈스, 시카고 화이트 삭스, 볼티모어 오리올스와 함께 창단된 역사가 깊은 팀으로써, 이 곳에서 활약했던 선수들 위주의 정보가 있는 것 같았다. 책을 통해 사이 영, 트리스 스피커, 사첼 페이지에 대해 본 적이 있으며, 오마 비즈켈, 짐 토미, 샌디 알로마 주니어, 알버트 벨은 정말 많이 들어본 이름이다.
메이저리그를 좋아하는 팬이라면 꼭 들러야 할 곳이다!
(I didn't know at all, one staff told "If you go down, you can see something good", I did so like his saying, so it could find wonder place such as hidden jewel like this. Of course, I don't know about older players well cause I'm not old fan, but there were familiar names which heard in books or comments of baseball broadcasting, so I can interestingly look it.
As Cleveland Indians which was founded with Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles was a team having old history, it looked like there were mainly players who was active here. I've read about Cy Young and Tris Speaker and Satchel Paige by books, I heard names of Omar Vizquel and Jim Thome and Sandy Alomar Jr. and Albert Belle very much.
I think it is a place where certainly stops by if you are major league fan!)

명성대로 깔끔하고 정돈된 모습과 함께 세련된 느낌을 받았다. 외야에서 보는 잔디와 좌석의 배치 모양이 참으로 정갈하고, 독특한 외야 구조에 멋진 대형 전광판이 눈에 띄며 곳곳에 쓰인 벽돌의 색상이나 그 배열이 매우 인상적이었다. 내부 복도도 깔끔하고, 나름의 포토 스팟이 있다.
(I felt refined with tidy and neat image as the reputation. Lawn seen outfield and form of seating arrangement are clear and beautiful, a wonderful large electronic scoreboard with antique outfield's structure stands out, I was very impressive bricks' color and sequence in places. Hallway's tidy, has a special photo spot.)

가장 상단 쪽은 현재 공사 중이라 출입 불가라고 했는데 직원 분이 잠깐 들여보내주셔서 사진만 찍고 후딱 나왔다. 쭉 돌아보고 싶었지만 안전을 위해서라니 어쩔 수 없겠지... 우리 경기만 아니었으면 꼭대기층의 중앙에서 경기를 보는 것이 정말 멋있었을 것 같다! 상단 복도에서 보는 다운타운 모습도 멋있었고 말이다.
홈런 포치라는 사인이 붙어있는 곳은 2층을 연결하는 통로라고 보면 될 거 같은데 우리도 사실 여기를 가보지는 않았다. 2층에 여러 프리미엄 좌석이 있어서 그런지 출입이 원할하지는 않았으니까......
그래서 다시 1층으로 내려와 홈플레이트 뒷쪽의 방향으로 갔고, 이 곳에서 프로그레시브 필드의 전체적인 모습을 담아봤다. 대칭형에 가까운 구장이기는 하나, 3루(홈팀) 쪽 파울존이 더 넓고, 외야 구조물 사이사이로 다운타운의 건물들이 운치를 더해주고 있다. 또한 좌측 외야 쪽에 터미널 타워라는 고풍스러운 건물이 하나 있는데 야간 경기 때 건물에 불빛이 들어와 확연히 눈에 띄기도 한다.
{It couldn't enter to the upper deck due to under construction, a staff permitted to enter for a while, I quickly went out after taking photos. I'd like to look around, but it couldn't do for keeping safe... If it wasn't game of my team, I thought watching game in the middle of the upper deck was really gorgeous! And it was wonderful downtown seen on the upper deck.
The place being sign "Home Run Porch" is a passageway connected the 2nd floor, we actually haven't been here. It wasn't easy entering whether there were some premium zone......
So we went down to the 1st floor and a way behind home plate, I took to put a whole of Progressive Field here. It's a ball park near symmetrical form, but foul zone of the way of the 3rd base(host team) is larger, buildings in downtown adds grace between structures of outfield. And there's a antique building called Terminal Tower in the side of left field, it clearly stands out an image to switch on light when night game.)
[나초와 피자 (Nacho and Pizza)]
클리블랜드에서의 첫 날은 정선 언니와 함께 간단하게 나초를 먹었고, 둘째날은 새우 치즈 피자를 먹었으며 마지막 날은 낮경기라 숙소에서 식사를 하고 나왔다. 숙소도 야구장에서 도보 5분 거리였고......
정선 언니가 나초에 이런저런 토핑을 마구마구 넣었는데 생각 외로 맛있었으나 양이 너무 많아서 다 먹지는 못했고, 경기 후에 따로 식사를 할 예정이었기에 간단하게 먹으려고 했다. 피자도 생각 외로 맛있었다.
(I simply ate Nacho with my friend in the first day of Cleveland, shrimp cheese pizza in the secondary day, had a brunch in my hotel in the last day. So it took about 5 minutes by walk from my hotel to Progressive Field......
My friend put various topping a lot, was delicious than I thought, but we couldn't eat all things cause the portions were so big, simply tried to eat cause we had a plan eating dinner after game. Pizza was delicious pretty much.)
[프로그레시브 필드의 밤 (A night of Progressive Field)]
저녁 식사를 하러 나가서 찍은 근사한 프로그레시브 필드의 풍경이다. 역시 상황이 된다면 숙소는 야구장에서 최대한 가까운 곳에 잡는 게 휴식 차원에서도 그렇지만 이런 면에서 더 좋은 것 같다. 생각보다 규정을 좀 빡빡하게 적용하는 게 약간 불편한 부분이기는 하였으나, 이 부분을 제외하고는 꽤 아름답고 시야도 좋은 곳이었던 것 같다. 미국의 야구장들 대부분은 어쩜 이렇게 이쁜지......!!!
(It's landscape of wonderful Progressive Field on way of restaurant for eating dinner. If it can do, I think appointing hotel nearest ball park is better including relaxation in this way. The thing tightly applies rule than I thought was a little inconvenient part, except this part, Progressive Field was a place where is pretty beautiful and has a good view. I think almost ball parks in US are very wonderful......!!!)
