난 사실 이전에는 그를 알지 못했다. 아직은 MLB 초보팬이라 올해 MLBPipeline.com의 TOP 100에 없었기 때문에(올해는 오늘 전까지 Baseball America top 100 순위도 안 찾아봤으나, 현지 기사 몇 개 찾아보니 실제 2017시즌 데뷔 예정이었다고;;;) 거기 올라있는 몇몇 선수만 알고 있었다.
하지만 추신수 선수의 부상으로 인해 4/10 메이저 로스터에 진입했고, 콜업 첫 경기부터 2번 타순, 우익수로 출전하여 4타수 3안타를 쳤는데 무려 첫 홈런까지 함께 신고하며 Baseball America 선정 Prospects Top 21의 위용을 뽐냈다.

도미니카 공화국 출신 선수로 2011년 당시 텍사스 레인저스가 4.95M라는 거액의 계약금을 안겨주며 그의 가능성을 인정했지만 다른 팀에서 오버페이했다는 시선을 받았다고 전해진다. 1995년 4월생으로 올해 21살이 된 노마 마자라는 Baseball America의 20-80 스케일 평가에서 Hit 60 / Power 60 / Speed 20 / Fielding 40 / Arm 60를 받았는데 스피드는 평균 이하로 평가받고 있고, 수비는 평균이지만 나머지 부분은 평균 이상의 좋은 평가를 받고 있음을 알 수 있다.

처음 텍사스 레인저스에 왔을 때는 타석에서 레그킥 동작도 크고, 일정하지 않아 마이너리그에서 타격폼 수정을 대대적으로 했다고 하는데 그 부분이 대폭 수정이 되면서 컨택 능력이 매우 향상되었으며 빠른 뱃스피드와 파워가 결합되어 이처럼 비거리가 꽤 긴 홈런을 만들어낼 수 있는 능력을 가지게 된 것으로 보인다. Statcast에 의하면 올해 최고의 비거리를 기록한 홈런이고, 역대 3번째라고 한다. (첫번째는 시카고 컵스의 크리스 브라이언트의 495-ft 홈런, 두번째는 워싱턴 내셔널스의 마이클 A. 테일러의 493-ft 홈런... 모두 2015년 기록이고, Statcast가 서비스된지 얼마되지 않음...)
나름 텍사스 팬이라 그의 타석에서의 모습을 자주 지켜보면서 느낀 점은 자세가 매우 안정되어 있다는 부분이었다. 그러다보니 저 동영상에서 보이는 것처럼 공을 보는 시선 자체도 거의 흔들림이 없으며 하체도 단단히 고정되어 있고, 스윙 매커닉 자체가 물 흐르듯이 자연스러워 보인다. 게다가 타석에 들어설 때 상황상황마다 전술을 가지고 들어선다고 들었던 듯 하다. 물론 탄탄하고 좋은 체격은 덤;;;
5/25 경기까지 총 39게임 출전해서 0.320 / 0.365 / 0.500 (OPS .865) / 8 HR / 21 RBI를 기록하고 있고, 2게임을 제외하고는 거의 우익수로 출전 중이다.

The feeling thing that I often watch his batting as Texas' fan was a part that is very stable his batting posture. So view seeing ball itself doesn't almost shake like that video and his lower body's fixed hardly, it seems to feel smooth like flowingly in part of swing mechanic. Besides I heard he enters batting box to have tactic at each other situation. Of course, it's bonus hard and good physique...;;;
He played total 39 games until May 25, recorded 0.320 of batting average and 0.365 of on-base percentage and 0.500 of Slugging percentage (OPS 0.865) and 8 home-run and 21 runs batted in, is almost playing right fielder except 2 games.}
지난번 mlb.com의 현지 기사 중에 노마 마자라의 어린 시절에 대한 이야기를 잠깐 본 적이 있다. 영어가 짧아서 제대로 이해한 것인지는 모르겠지만 아버지가 도미니카 공화국 해군 출신이고, 어머니는 교사 생활을 하고 있는데 그래서 그런지 엄한 규율 속에서 성장해왔다고 한다. 운동도, 학교 생활도 모두 열심히 했던 모범생 중의 모범생이었던 것 같다.
텍사스 레인저스와 계약할 당시의 일화를 소개한 기사를 하나 볼 수 있었다. 많은 선수들이 계약금을 받으면 자신을 위해 멋진 차와 장신구를 사고, 그 다음에 그들의 어머니(부모님?)에게 집을 사드린다고 하는데 노마는 어머니께 집을 사 드리고, 형제와 아버지를 위해 차를 샀을 뿐 본인을 위해 쓴 건 아무것도 없다고 한다.

I'm not sure I properly understand so my English's skill lacks, his father retired general navy in Dominica and his mother's teaching, so whether he has been growing up in strict rules. I think he was model student of model student who all did exercise and studied very hard.
I could see a news which notifies anecdote when he contracts with Texas Rangers. If many people get bonus, they buy wonderful car and jewelry for themselves and then buy a house for their mother(parent?), but he only bought a house for his mother and a car for brother and father, there was nothing something to buy for himself.}

보면 볼수록 마음에 드는 녀석이다. 좋은 집안에서 바른 교육을 받으며 자라온 것이 정말 얼마만큼 중요한 것인가를 노마 마자라를 통해 알 수 있고, 지금도 많은 팬들의 사랑을 받으며 유명세를 타고는 있지만 부디 처음 시작할 때의 마음 변치 말고, 실력 외에도 더더욱 개념있고, 좋은 인성을 갖춘 선수가 되어줬으면 하는 바램이다.
인터뷰할 때도 들어보면 얼마나 이쁜지 모른다. 팬들에 대한 코멘트를 아끼지 않는 녀석... 진짜 지금 마음 변하지 않았으면 하는 바램이다.
지금은 좀 바빠서 자세한 글은 더 나중에 써보기로 하고(참 쓸 선수가 많구나.... 에헤라디야;;;; ㅋ) 이 정도로 마쳐야 할 것 같다.

It can know according to Nomar Mazara that the thing that grows up to get correct education in good family is really how much it is important, he gets much love of many fans and famous now, but I wish he shouldn't change his first intention and becomes to have a conception more and more except baseball ability and a player who has upright character.
If I see his interview, it doesn't know how much he is great. He knows thankful about fans... I really hope he shouldn't change his present mind.

2. 재키 브래들리 주니어의 29게임 연속 안타(hitting streak to 29 games of Jackie Bradley Jr.)
아무래도 내 응원팀이 아니라서 헤드라인만 보고 자세한 기사 내용은 확인하지 않았지만 현재 보스턴 레드삭스의 재키 브래들리 주니어가 29게임 연속 안타 기록 행진을 이어가고 있다. 만약 내일 로키스 전에서 또 안타를 치면 2011년 LA 다저스의 안드레 이디어 이후 오랜만에 진기록이 달성될 것이다. 팀 역사에선 1912년 트리스 스피커, 1997년 노마 가르시아파라 이후 3번째 선수가 된다.
내일 경기도 부디 30게임 연속 안타라는 헤드라인을 MLB news에서 봤으면 좋겠다.
(It's not honestly my supporting team, so I see only headline and didn't confirm detail article's content, but Jackie Bradley Jr. of Boston Red Sox's continued a record of 29 games' consecutive hit. If he hit opposite Rockies tomorrow, can be achieved real record since Andre Ethier of LA Dodgers after a long time. He'll become the third player since Tris Speaker in 1912 and Nomar Garciaparra in 1997.
I wish I see a headline which names consecutive hit of 30 games in MLB news tomorrow, too.)
3. 다르빗슈 5/28 선발 등판 예정(Darvish Yu, being starting pitcher on Saturday)
드디어 기다리고 기다렸던 달빗이 2014년 8월 이후 메이저리그 무대에 오른다.
현지 시간으로 바로 어제 23개의 불펜 피칭을 마쳤고, 토요일 이전까지는 쭉 쉬면서 선발 등판 준비를 한다. Double A와 Triple A에서 5게임 rehab start를 가졌고, 마지막 등판에선 87개의 투구수를 기록하면서 이번 토요일에도 약 90개 정도로 피칭을 할 예정이라도 한다. 잘하면 오랜 이닝을 던지는 것이고, 못하면 일찍 내려오는 것이고......
처음부터 너무 큰 기대는 하지 않는다. 일단 큰 수술 이후인만큼 정상적으로 경기를 소화하는 것이 가장 중요하지, 더 큰 것을 바랄 수는 없을 것 같으니 말이다. 그저 이젠 아프지 않고, 목표한대로 차근차근 빅리그 무대에 다시 적응해갔으면 좋겠고, 추후에 어느 정도 적응이 되면 콜 하멜스와 함께 좋은 원투펀치를 이뤄줬으면 좋겠다.
그나저나 상대팀이 벅스인데 도대체 난 누굴 응원해야 하는가........!!!!
다르빗슈는 나의 MLB 첫 응원 선수이니만큼 중요하고, 정호는 내가 야구를 본 이후 녀석의 고등학교 시절부터 지금까지 가장 오랫동안 응원해와서 중요한데 어쩌지...... 몰라, 그냥 둘 다 잘해라.. ㅋㅋㅋ -_-;;;
{Darvish Yu who finally I'm waiting and waiting for going to climb up MLB's stage since Aug, 2014.
He finished pitching of 23 count in bullpen yesterday on local time and takes a rest before this Saturday and prepares starting game. He had rehap starting of 5 games in Double A and Triple A, recorded 87 pitch count in last starting game, it's going to pitch about 90 pitch count on this Saturday. Um, if he'll do well, he can pitch long inning, if he won't do, he can come down from mound early...
I don't do so big expectation at first. Once it's the most important that he ordinarily digest games as since he does a big surgery, I can't wish bigger thing. I'd like to be getting adaptation again slowly on target in big league, if he adapts somewhat later, I'd like to be a good one-two punch with Cole Hamels.
By the way, the opposite team's Bucs, who should I support......!!!
Darvish's important to me as my first favorite player in MLB, Jung Ho's important to me as I'm supporting for the most long time from his high school to now since I like baseball, too, How should I do..... I don't know, just doing well both... :) }
