네덜란드의 동인도회사가 모피 무역을 하기 위해 이 곳에 식민지를 세우며 '뉴암스테르담'이란 이름으로 불리다가 1664년 영국이 이 곳을 점령하면서 그 왕 제임스 2세의 이름을 따서 현재의 이름인 '뉴욕'이 되었다. 뉴욕의 많은 지명에서 여전히 네덜란드의 흔적을 찾아볼 수 있는데 '월 스트리트'란 이름도 그렇다. 현재도 뉴욕은 금융, 상업, 예술, 패션, 기술, 교육 등 거의 모든 부분에서 가장 큰 영향력을 끼치는 도시이다.
(East India Company of Nethelands established a colony for fur trade in New York, it called a name 'New Amsterdam', England occupied here in 1664, became a name of the present 'New York' by taking name of the king James Ⅱ. We are still able to find out trace of Nethelands in many names of New York, a name of 'Wall Street' is the same. New York has the strongest influence in every parts like finance and commerce and art and fashion and technology and education and etc in the present time.)
2019년은 불행하게도 단 한번의 여행으로 그것도 매우 짧은 8박 9일만이 나에게 허락된 시간이었고, 그 시간을 알차게 보내기 위해 여행 계획을 짜는데 골머리를 앓기도 했으나, 어쨌든 올해도 그 과업을 이어나갈 수 있었다. 참, 살아갈수록 왜 이렇게 삶이 각박하고 힘든지 알 수가 없다. 이제 나에게 탈출구는 여행이 전부인 듯 싶다. 야구도 예전처럼 재미있지는 않으니 말이다.
(Unfortunately, only so short time of 8 nights 9 days with travel once was permitted to me in 2019, it was bother my head of planning travel schedule for meaningfully spending the time though, anyway the bucket list was able to continue this year. Huh, the more living, the living why life's heartless and tough...... I'm reducing interest about baseball as the past.)
그렇다고 할지라도, 여전히 나의 버킷 리스트 달성 그리고 재설정은 계속될 것이고, 야구에 대한 흥미도 완전히 사라지지는 않을 것 같다. 모든 부분은 아니어도 여러가지 일들이 잘 풀리게 되면 다시 찾을 수 있겠지. 물론 여행은 항상 나를 행복하게 만드는 삶의 활력소이다.
(Although that, achieving and resetting my bucket list is still continued, I don't think it disappears interest of baseball. Even if it isn't everthing, it will be able to find again if some things go well. Of course, travel is always my tonic that makes me happy.)

짧은 시간인만큼 치열하게 일정을 소화했고, 사실 순수한 관광 목적으로 간 곳이 별로 없다. 뭐, 주목적은 MLB 야구장 투어이니 큰 상관은 없었지만 말이다. 역시 항상 하던 패턴대로, 각 도시별로 순수 관광-야구장-야구 게임 이렇게 글을 써볼까 한다. 나중에 이 글들을 다시 보면 부끄러울 때가 한두번이 아니긴 해도 이렇게 나의 역사가 점점 쌓이는 건 꽤 기분 좋은 일이다.
(I intensely digested my schedules as short time, honestly there aren't some places that go aiming at pure tour. Well, it didn't matter so my main purpose's tour of MLB ballparks. By my pattern that I have written every time, I'm going to post pure tour-ballparks-baseball game each cities. Even though it used to feel shameful whenver I read these posts again later, accumulating my histories like this is pretty good.)
5. [MLB TOUR(26)] 시티 필드 : 뉴욕 메츠의 홈구장 (Citi Field : Home of the New York Mets)
뉴욕은 많은 사람들이 동경하고 사랑하는 도시이지만 너무나 복잡한데다 별로 깔끔한 도시도 아니며 살인적인 물가를 자랑하는 점 등으로 인해 나에게는 전혀 그렇지 않은 곳 중 하나이다. 그래서 시티 필드 방문을 위해 최소한의 방문만 하려고 생각하고 있었고, 이번에 마침 경기 일정이 있었어서 딱 하루만 머물기로 했다.
(New York's a city where many people yearn and love, but it is a city where isn't so to me at all because it is too busy and isn't clean city and boasts too high-price. So I've been considering to visit by the minimum for tour of City Field, decided to stay only a day by game schedule.)
[시티 필드의 외부 풍경(Scene outside Citi Field)]
시티 필드는 퀸즈 지역의 플러싱 메도우즈-코로나 파크에 위치해 있다. 교통편이 맨하탄에서도 잘 연결되어 있어 7호선 IRT 플러싱 라인을 타고 메츠-윌렛 포인트 역에 내리면 바로 야구장 입구가 나온다.
체크인 후 짐을 풀고 호텔에서 나올 때만 해도 비가 꽤 오고 있었다. 그 비로 인해 경기가 취소되지 않을까 걱정하며 출발했는데 도착했을 때는 이미 비가 그치다못해 구름 사이로 태양이 밝게 빛나고 있었다.
시티 필드도 예상 외로 깔끔하고 아름다운 야구장 중 하나였다. 사람들의 입에 많이 오르락내리락하지는 않아서 그저 그렇겠거니 생각했었는데 그냥 많은 사람들이 와보지 않아서 그런 것 같단 느낌도 든다. 뭐, 뉴욕에 들르면 대부분 양키 스타디움을 갈테니...... 양키 스타디움이 진짜 멋없는 구장임에도 불구하고 말이다.
(Citi Field locates at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park of Queens, New York. It takes off at Mets-Willets Point Station through IRT Flushing Line caused by that public transportation is connected from Manhattan well, can reach entrance of ballpark.
In fact, it was raining a lot even when I arranged my baggage and went from my hotel after checking in. I was worrying whether game can be cancelled due to the rain, but it already stopped rain, moveover sun was brightly shining between clouds when I arrived there.
Citi Field was one of tidy and beautiful ballparks than I expected. I had thought it is so because people didn't handle about the ballpark, I feel many people haven't just visited there. Well, If people visit New York, almost people will go to Yankee Stadium...... Even though Yankee Stadium isn't really impressive.)
여느 야구장과 마찬가지로 넓은 내부 공간에 많은 편의 시설들이 위치해있으나, 2~3층에 올라가면 더 넓직한 공간에서 더 맛있는 음식들을 먹을 수 있는 것 같다. 물론 난 자리가 이 쪽이라서 올라온 것이긴 하지만, 훨씬 더 여유롭고 안정적인 분위기이다. 특히 크리스마스 트리같은 분위기의 메츠 로고는 정말 메츠다우면서도 귀여운 느낌이었다. 뉴욕답게 고층 건물들이 질서있게 쭉 늘어서있는 배경에 줄로 늘어선 불빛이 메츠 로고와 참 잘 어울린다.
(Many amenities are inside large space like other ballparks, however I think it can eat more delicious foods into larger space if we go up to 2nd or 3rd floor. Of course, I was there due to my seat though, I feel more easygoing and comfortable atmosphere. Especially Mets' emblem such as Christmas tree really makes to feel real image of Mets and is so cute. Lighting arranging regularly into curve line harmonizes with Mets in the background which high buildings stand in a row in arrangement as it is New York pretty much.)
원래 평소 다른 야구장을 갔을 때도 헬멧 아이스크림을 사먹으려고 생각하곤 했는데 이제서야 이렇게 사봤던 것 같다. 난 그냥 바닐라 맛 아이스크림으로 주문했는데 초코맛도 있었다. 토핑은 내가 넣었는지 거기서 알아서 넣어줬는지 기억이 나지는 않는데 딱 메츠다운 컬러로 넣으니 이것도 재미나게 느껴졌던 것 같다. 원래 야구팬들 사이에서의 메츠란 존재는 뭔가 바보스러우면서도 애처롭기도 한데 그게 참으로 많은 웃음을 준다. ^.^
(I used to think eating an ice cream with helmet cup whenever I usually go to other ballparks, I remember I bought it like this then. I ordered an vanilla ice cream, there had been chocolate ice cream as well. I don't remember whether I put some topping into it or staff puts one into it, color like just Mets made me funny. It feels silly and pitiful somthing about existence being Mets between baseball fans, that makes laugh pretty much. ^.^)
역시 야구장의 전체적인 모습을 감상하기에는 2층이나 3층 센터 쪽 좌석이 제일 좋다. 뷰가 좋으면서도 티켓 금액도 저렴한 편이라 가성비가 제일 좋은 자리 중 하나이기도 하고, 음식을 사먹기도 이 곳이 더 편하다. 아무래도 관중들은 1층에 많이 몰리기 때문에...!!!
물론 내 팀이면 좋은 자리에 가서 앉겠지만 그렇지 않는 이상은 항상 이 자리에 오게 되는 것 같다.
대칭형 구장으로 봐야 하지만 특이하게 외야 파울존이 거의 없어서 이것만 보면 타자들한테 유리해 보이긴 하나, 또 내야 파울존은 넓어서 투수들한테 유리한 감도 있다. 전광판들은 중간에 몰려있는데 타팀 스코어보드가 위쪽에 있는 게 좀 특이하게 느껴지고, 조명탑 모양이 마치 나비 넥타이같아 보인다.
(The 2nd or 3rd middle of seats is the best for watching a whole image of ballpark as well. It has a nice view, ticket's price is cheap, so it is one of the best in flank cost-effectiveness, feels more comfortable to buy some foods. Because there are many attendance in the 1st floor...!!!
Of course, I would sit down at nicer seat if I watch game of my team, but if it doesn't do, I am always used to select seats like this.
This one is symmetric ballpark though, unusually foul zone of outfield doesn't exist, so it feels advantage to hitters, however it feels advantage to pitchers so foul zone of infield on the other hand. Electronic scoreboards locates into the center, I think unusually scoreboard seen scores of other teams on the top, shape of lights seems like bow ties.)
올 시즌의 야구장 투어는 이 곳 시티 필드가 마지막이었다. 이제 4곳 남았고, 신구장이 지어진 후 여기서 1~2곳 정도 더 추가되는데도 어쨌든 나의 첫번째 버킷 리스트는 거의 끝이 보이는 듯 하다. 나름 벌었던 돈 족족 다 쓰며 무리한 감이 없지는 않으나, 어차피 한번 사는 세상 이렇게 사는 것도 나쁘지 않다 싶다. 물론 최소한의 노후 대비는 해야겠지만 아프지 않는 한 나이들어서도 어떻게든 일할 것이기 때문에 가능한 일이지 싶다.
후회를 남기지 않고 자유롭게 살아가는 것이 내 인생에서 가장 중요한 부분이 아닐까 생각이 든다.
(Citi Field was the last one of ballpark tour this season. It remains 4 places for now, will add about 1 to 2 places after building new ballparks, anyway my first bucket list reaches almost the end. It feels excessive cause I am spending my income a lot, however I think it isn't bad living like this in the world that we can live only once. Of course we should prepare our golden years at least though, it is possible cause I will work by any means except the situation having serious disease when I get older.
I think living freely without regrat is the most valuable part in my life.)
