미합중국이라는 국가가 태동한 이후, 가장 오랜 역사를 자랑하는 보스턴은 어쩌면 미국민들에게도 자부심의 하나일지도 모르겠다. 다소 짧은 역사를 가진 탓으로 나라 자체도 그렇고, 그 국민들도 역사적인 스토리 그리고 산물에 대해서는 매우 목마른 상황이라고 들었으니 말이다.
(Since a country being United States of America was begun, maybe Boston where boasts the oldest history is one of pride. I've heard they have the tendency due to short history and nations thirst for historic stories and relics by themselves.)
2019년은 불행하게도 단 한번의 여행으로 그것도 매우 짧은 8박 9일만이 나에게 허락된 시간이었고, 그 시간을 알차게 보내기 위해 여행 계획을 짜는데 골머리를 앓기도 했으나, 어쨌든 올해도 그 과업을 이어나갈 수 있었다. 참, 살아갈수록 왜 이렇게 삶이 각박하고 힘든지 알 수가 없다. 이제 나에게 탈출구는 여행이 전부인 듯 싶다. 야구도 예전처럼 재미있지는 않으니 말이다.
(Unfortunately, only so short time of 8 nights 9 days with travel once was permitted to me in 2019, it was bother my head of planning travel schedule for meaningfully spending the time though, anyway the bucket list was able to continue this year. Huh, the more living, the living why life's heartless and tough...... I'm reducing interest about baseball as the past.)
그렇다고 할지라도, 여전히 나의 버킷 리스트 달성 그리고 재설정은 계속될 것이고, 야구에 대한 흥미도 완전히 사라지지는 않을 것 같다. 모든 부분은 아니어도 여러가지 일들이 잘 풀리게 되면 다시 찾을 수 있겠지. 물론 여행은 항상 나를 행복하게 만드는 삶의 활력소이다.
(Although that, achieving and resetting my bucket list is still continued, I don't think it disappears interest of baseball. Even if it isn't everthing, it will be able to find again if some things go well. Of course, travel is always my tonic that makes me happy.)

짧은 시간인만큼 치열하게 일정을 소화했고, 사실 순수한 관광 목적으로 간 곳이 별로 없다. 뭐, 주목적은 MLB 야구장 투어이니 큰 상관은 없었지만 말이다. 역시 항상 하던 패턴대로, 각 도시별로 순수 관광-야구장-야구 게임 이렇게 글을 써볼까 한다. 나중에 이 글들을 다시 보면 부끄러울 때가 한두번이 아니긴 해도 이렇게 나의 역사가 점점 쌓이는 건 꽤 기분 좋은 일이다.
(I intensely digested my schedules as short time, honestly there aren't some places that go aiming at pure tour. Well, it didn't matter so my main purpose's tour of MLB ballparks. By my pattern that I have written every time, I'm going to post pure tour-ballparks-baseball game each cities. Even though it used to feel shameful whenver I read these posts again later, accumulating my histories like this is pretty good.)
2. [MLB TOUR(24)] 펜웨이 파크 : 보스턴 레드삭스의 홈구장 (Fenway Park : Home of the Boston Red Sox)
[펜웨이 파크 외부(Outside Fenway Park)]
최초라는 수식어가 자주 등장하는 보스턴에서 펜웨이 파크 역시 미국에서 가장 오래된 야구장이다. 1912년 건축가 제임스 E. 맥래플린에 의해 설계되었고, 찰스 로그 빌딩 회사가 시공을 완료하였다. 좌측 외야 필드에 있는 굉장히 높은 녹색의 펜스가 시그니처이고, 이는 그린 몬스터라 불리고 있다. 이 높은 벽 덕택에 이 곳의 타구는 거의 대부분 안타성 타구(2루타~3루타)가 되고, 저 위치의 티켓 가격이 가장 비싸기도 하다.
이 곳은 약 4만석이 안되는 만큼 미국에서 4번째로 작은 구장이어서 야구장은 대부분 미어터지는 수준이다. 이걸 직접 느꼈으니 나 같은 성격을 가진 팬들은 펜웨이 파크에 가는 게 반갑지 않을지도 모른다. 화장실을 한번 가려해도 몇 십분이 걸릴 지경이다!
(Fenway Park's the oldest park of USA as well in Boston where often appears modifier "the first". It was designed by architect James E. McLaughlin, Charles Logue Building Company constructed in 1912. Very high green fence of left outfield's Fenway Park's signature, it's calling "Green Monster". Batted Balls going there almost become hit like double or triple no homerun due to high wall, price of seat ticket in Green Monster is the most expensive.
As it doesn't reach 40,000 seats a little bit, is the 4th smallest ballpark, so it's almost crowded. I experienced the situation in this travel, so maybe what fans like me go to Fenway Park aren't glad. If you want to go to restroom, it'll need to wait for several minutes!)
[레드삭스 팀스토어(Teamstore of Red Sox)]
레드삭스의 팀스토어는 야구장 건너편 건물에 크게 자리잡고 있어 정말 많은 굿즈들이 있다. 그래서 이 팀의 팬들에게는 굉장히 많은 선택지가 있고, 나도 항상 하던대로 레드삭스의 야구공과 공식 마스코트 인형을 구입했다. 오래된 야구장 만큼이나 이 팀스토어의 건물도 굉장히 오래된 느낌이라 뭔가 색다른 느낌이기도 했다.
(Teamstore of Red Sox located a large space in building against ballpark, so there're really many goods. Therefore there are also a lot of selections to Red Sox's fans, I purchased a baseball and official mascot doll of Red Sox as I always have done. I felt unusual something cause this building has very long history as oldest ballpark.)
[펜웨이 파크의 밤 풍경(Night atmosphere of Fenway Park)]
보스턴에서 있었던 날들 모두 펜웨이 파크에 갔고, 솔직히 내 팀은 아니라서 그런지 경기보다는 그 외의 부분들을 더 많이 봤던 것 같다. 경기장 내부에 정원을 하나 가꾸고 있는데 2015시즌 오프닝 데이에 맞춰 개장했다. 이 곳에서 키우는 유기농의 신선한 채소와 과일을 Dell/EMC Club의 레스토랑에서 제공하고 있다.
(I've visited Fenway Park all of day staying in Boston, watched the another parts than game by itself whether it isn't honestly my team. They're tending one farm inside the park, it opened at the opening day of 2015 season. Organic fresh vegetable and fruit growing here are being provided from restaurant at Dell/EMC Club.)
보스턴에서의 마지막 날, 구장 투어를 하려고 일부러 볼티모어로 가는 저녁 비행기 티켓으로 구입해두었다. 어차피 경기를 제대로 볼 것이라 생각이 들지 않았던 것이 일단 보스턴에 머무는 시간이 너무 짧았고, 내 팀의 경기도 아니었으며 몸도 매우 피곤한 상태라는 걸 직감했었기 때문이다.
그래서 월요일 정오 시간대의 펜웨이 파크 투어에 참여하였는데 그렇게 많은 사람들이 올지 전혀 예상하지 못했기에 두 그룹으로 나눠 진행이 되었고, 기대했던 덕아웃, 클럽하우스의 방문은 이뤄지지 못했다. 원래 안했던 것인지 시간상 안되었던 것인지는 잘 모르겠지만 어쨌든 뭐 이 정도면 목적은 달성한거란 생각은 든다.
어쨌든 펜웨이 파크에서 가장 비싼 그린 몬스터에 직접 앉아 사진을 찍고, 역시 일반팬이 들어갈 수 없는 프레스룸에 들어가 구장과 레드삭스에 대한 여러가지의 역사를 들었다.
(The last day in Boston, I intentionally purchased airline ticket going to Baltimore to participate Fenway Park tour. Predicting not to watch all of games is why it stays for so short time in Boston and isn't my team's game and was so tired.
So I participated Fenway Park tour at Monday noon, it was divided two groups because there were many people, we couldn't see dugout and club house that I expected. I don't know what sees dugout and clubhose doesn't include the program from the first time or couldn't visit caused by delaying the time, but my purpose achieved.
Anyway I took some photographs sitting down at Green Monster boasts the most expensive at Fenway Park, listened some histories about ballpark and Red Sox in press room that normal fans can't enter as well.)
내 페이보릿 선수가 트레이드되지 않는다면, 내년에도 이 곳을 방문하게 될지 모르는데 이 비싼 티켓을 어찌 감당할 수 있을지 모르겠다. 그래도 매력적인 구장임에 분명하고, MLB 야구팬이라면 한번쯤은 꼭 방문해야 할 역사깊은 곳이라는 생각이 든다.
(If my favorite guy isn't traded to another team, I may visit here next year, but I'm not sure I can cope with the expensie ticket. BTW, it's sure a impressive ballpark, I think it should visit historical place once if you are MLB fan.)
