『한 여자가 에메랄드 빛의 해안을 보며 끝도 없이 펼쳐진 백사장을 조용히 걷고 있었다. 한 손에는 카메라를 들고, 다른 한 손으로 새하얀 솜뭉치처럼 보이는 몰티즈의 어깨끈을 쥐며 느릿느릿 그 사이를 가로지르고 있다. 때마침 붉은 석양이 드리우며 그녀의 발걸음을 멈추게 만들었고, 몰티즈와 함께 잠시 백사장에 주저앉아 수평선을 지그시 바라보며 카메라 셔터를 누르기 시작한다. 그 순간, 누군가가 다가와 그 둘을 넓고 든든한 어깨로 감싸주었고, 그렇게 그들은 따스한 속삭임을 주고 받으며 다시 백사장 한쪽 끝을 향해 걸어가기 시작했다.』
삶의 여유 그리고 자유를 꿈꾸다보면 항상 이런 모습들을 그리곤 한다. 바다, 해변, 강아지, 로맨틱한 풍경, 카메라 등등...... 아마도 인생의 축소판이라고 볼 수 있는 여행이란 단어가 나에게 그러한 여유로움과 자유를 안겨주는 주된 요소이지 않을까하는 생각이 든다. 지금으로선 미르를 다시 만날 수 없는 상황이지만 천국에서 나중에 미르와 재회하고, 사랑하는 사람과도 합류하게 되면 저런 따스한 풍경이 펼쳐질 것이라 믿어보며 이 글을 시작해본다.

Dreaming composure of life and liberty, I've always used to draw like this. Ocean, beach, dog, romantic view, camera, etc...... Maybe It seems a word 'travel' can speak microcosm of life is an element that gives composure and liberty like that to me. It's a situation can't meet Mir again for now, but if I meet with Mir later and also join with loved one in heaven, I believe I can see wonderful view like that and start to post this writing.)

상황이 상황인지라 가성비 좋은 여행을 계획하여 이번에도 가보지 못한 4군데의 야구장을 돌아보며 나름 관광지도 알차게 찾아다닐 수 있었다. 여행을 다녀온 이후 미국 동부와 중부, 서부 그리고 한국까지 짧은 기간 안에 넘나드느라 가뜩이나 약해진 체력이 더 떨어지면서 시차 적응에 애를 먹은 건지 아니면 건강이 많이 안 좋아진 것인지 확실한 이유는 알 수 없지만 병원을 수시로 들락날락할 정도로 아프기도 했다. 그래도 이 여행에 대해서 후회는 없는 것이 여행 중에는 아픈 적이 전혀 없었기 때문에 돌아오는 것 자체가 나에게 더 스트레스로 다가오지 않았을까 싶고, 이게 더 설득력 있는 요인으로 느껴진다.
항상 그래왔듯이 관광, MLB 볼파크, 야구, 정리글까지 이렇게 나눠서 기록해볼 예정이고, 30개 구장(도시까지)을 모두 돌아보고 참고 자료를 조금 더 축적한 이후 이 자료들을 가지고 나만의 책을 한번 만들어보고 싶다는 생각이 든다. 판매 목적이 아닌 내 스스로 만들어나간 역사 그 흔적을 남기기 위해서......
(I planned cost-effective travel so my situation isn't good, had looked around 4 ball parks where I have never gone this time and could worthily look tourist attractions as my idea. After going back from travel, I can't know sure cause whether weak strength gets lower and I couldn't adjust jet leg so I had gone all the eastern and central and western area of US within short time or my health got worse pretty much, I've been sick as frequently going in and out of hospital. But the reason that has no regret about this travel is what had never been sick in middle that time at all, I thought coming back here by itself gave any more stresses to me, I feel this is more reasonable cause.
As I did so, I'm going to write dividing to the part of sightseeing and MLB ball parks and baseball and ending story, I've thought I would like to make only my book for using these materials after I all go to 30 ball parks(including cities) and accumulate more reference materials. 11. [MLB TOUR(21)] 리글리 필드 : 시카고 컵스의 홈구장 (Wrigley Field : Home of the Chicago Cubs)

마침내 21번째로 방문한 MLB 야구장이자 이번 여행에서 마지막으로 들른 시카고 컵스의 홈구장 리글리 필드를 다녀올 수 있었다. 보스턴 레드 삭스의 펜웨이 파크 다음으로 역사와 유서가 깊은 야구장이며, 이 지역이 개발제한구역이라 야구장 뿐만이 아니고 이 일대 자체가 다소 고전적인 느낌이 남아있는 곳이다. 원래는 페더럴 리그 팀의 홈구장으로 위그먼 파크라는 이름으로 개장했으나, 페더럴 리그가 망한 이후 1916년에 컵스가 인수하여 홈구장으로 만들었고, 잠시 컵스 파크라는 이름이었다가 1927년 당시 구단주이자 리글리 츄잉껌으로 유명한 위글리사의 오너인 윌리엄 위글리 주니어를 기념하기 위해 이름을 바꿔 현재까지 사용되고 있다.
1914년부터 개장되어 2014년 4월 23일로 탄생 100주년을 맞은 곳으로 1988년 이전까지는 낮경기만 열렸다. 일본의 진주만 공습시 구단주가 구장의 조명탑 시설을 조선소에 기증했고, 후에도 다시 설치하려는 노력을 하지 않아 컵스의 전통이 되었으나, 1988년 사무국이 컵스에게 포스트시즌에 나가더라도 원정 경기를 치르게 할 것이라는 강수를 두면서 결국 조명탑이 설치되었다. 조명탑 문제와 함께 주위 환경이 주택가인 탓에 소음 문제도 있었기 때문에 현재도 낮경기가 많이 열린다고 한다. 선데이나이트 베이스볼이 열리지 않는 한 주말과 공휴일 경기는 모두 낮경기이고, 평일도 반 정도는 낮경기로 편성되는 듯 하다.
(Finally I could go Wrigley Field of home of the Chicago Cubs that I had visited MLB ball park and stopped by final one in this travel. It's long history and storied ball park next to Fenway Park of Boston Red Sox, whole area near ball park remains somewhat classical feeling with ball park in places cause this area's limited development district. Naturally it opened by Weeghman Park being home of the Federal League, but Cubs took this one over and has made their's home park in 1916 after failing Federal League, it called Cubs park for a while, changed name and is used to the present for William Wrigley Jr. who was owner of a club then and owner of Wrigley company which is famous chewing gum.
It was opened since 1914 and a place where welcomed birth 100th year in April 23, 2014, opened only daytime game until 1988. Owner donated lighting tower of ball park to dockyard when Pearl Harbor was raided by Japan, he didn't try to install again after war, it became tradition of Cubs, but MLB Office strongly asked "Even if you go to postseason, we will make playing away game" to Cubs in 1988, finally lighting tower installed. Cause environment near the park's residential area and there has been noise issue with lighting, It's been opening daytime game a lot these days, too. Weekend and holiday games are all daytime game except Sunday Night Baseball, it looks like a half is scheduled to daytime game in weekday.)
시카고 컵스는 미국에서 뉴욕 양키스 다음으로 보스턴 레드 삭스와 비슷할만큼 엄청난 인기팀이다. 2016년 월드시리즈 우승 전까지 염소의 저주(?)로 인해 108년 동안 우승을 하지 못했음에도 불구하고, 계속 인내하면서 컵스를 응원한 엄청난 열혈팬들이 많고 항상 팀에 대한 자부심을 가지고 있다. 하지만 실상 2016년 우승도 어웨이 경기장인 프로그레시브 필드에서 하면서 이 곳에서 월드시리즈 우승을 한 적 없다는 건 안 비밀!
1870년 당시 시카고 화이트 스토킹스라는 이름으로 창단되었고, 1876년 내셔널 리그로 편입되었으며, 1890년에 시카코 콜츠, 시카고 올픈스의 이름이었다가 1903년에 이르러서야 현재의 팀명인 시카고 컵스로 불리게 되었다.
(Chicago Cubs is a great popular team similar to Boston Red Sox next to New York Yankees in US. Even though they didn't win WS for 108 due to "The curse of the Billy Goat(?)"until 2016, there are a lot of great fans who keep patience and follow, they always have pride about team. But not secret that WS title in 2016 has gotten in Progressive Field being away ball park in fact and they have never won WS win here!
Chicago Cubs was founded a name of Chicago White Stockings in 1870, entered to National League in 1876, called Chicago Colts, Chicago Orphans, was called Chicago Cubs being the present team name in 1903.)

리글리 필드에 가려면 레드 라인 하워드 역 방향의 CTA를 타고 에디슨 역에 정차하면 된다. 역에서 리글리 필드가 보이는 만큼 도보 5~10분이면 어느 출입구든 다 갈 수 있으며, 구장 주위의 많은 주택들과 상점들이 마치 1900년 중후반대의 옛날 미국 거리에 들어온 듯한 느낌을 주었다. 왜 개발제한구역인지 알 수 있었고, 이 기조를 잘 지키고 있는 것을 칭찬해주고 싶을 정도였다. 다만, 리글리 필드는 어느 정도의 업그레이드가 가능하다고 하며 이 주위도 그런 것 같기는 했다. 저 현대식의 큰 호텔을 보아하니...... 그래도 호텔도 그 나름대로 주위 분위기와 맞춘 것 같기는 하다.
(If it reaches at Wrigley Field, it rides CTA on way to Howard Station of Red Line and should get on Addison Station. We can all walk which gate about 5 to 10 minutes as seen Wrigley Field from station, I felt like coming to old street of America in the middle and late 1900s due to many houses and shops near ball park. I could know why this area is Limited Development District , I'd like to praise keeping this basis well. But Wrigley Field's available renovation somewhat, I thought it was so near the ball park. So seen that modern big hotel...... It seems hotel matches with near this place.)

리글리 필드 투어는 매일 진행되고 있고, 시간대도 자주 있어서 헛걸음할 일은 별로 없을 것이다. 특히 주말이나 낮경기가 열리는 날을 제외하고는 주말과 가까운 금요일은 꽤 자주 하는 것 같고, 컵스가 어웨이 게임을 떠났을 때는 이른 오후까지도 쭉 있는 듯 하다. 내가 투어를 참여한 시간이 오후 1시였는데 이후에도 있었으니 말이다.
다른 구장처럼 대략 1시간 30분 정도 소요되고, 가이드가 이 야구장과 팀에 대한 역사, 좌석, 시설, 주위 환경까지 세세하게 설명을 해주는데 내 영어 실력이 짧은 상황이라 기억에 남는 건 그다지 많지 않기는 하다. 그냥 잘생긴 남자분이었다는 건 확실히 기억하고 있다. 😄😂😁
대략 4만1천석 정도의 좌석을 보유하고 있고, 여전히 고전적인 스코어 보드를 수동식으로 사용하고 있으며 외야 펜스는 담쟁이 덩굴로 둘러싸여 있어 이 곳으로 공이 들어가면 그라운드 룰 더블로 판정이 된다. 아직 날씨가 추울 때라(5월이었는데?) 그런지 담쟁이 덩굴에 잎이 서서히 나고 있었다.
{Wrigley Field Tour is proceeding everyday, it won't almost make a trip in vain so it has much time slot. Especially park tour is proceeded very often on weekend Friday near weekend, it seems it continually proceeds till the early afternoon when Cubs's playing away game. The time that I participate was 1:00 pm, there was time slot after that.
It takes about 1.5 hours as another ball parks, guide explains about ball park and history and seats and facilities and environment near the park in detail, there wasn't a lot of things in my memory so my English lacks. I remember the guide was just handsome guy. 😄😂😁
It has about 41,000 seats, classical scoreboard is still using by manual system, outfield fence surrounds by ivy and it is judged ground rule double if a ball enters into ivy. Leafs was slowly growing in ivy whether it is still chilly weather.(was on May?)}

외야에서 이런저런 설명을 들은 후 어웨이팀 클럽 하우스에 다다랐다. 안에 들어서기 바로 직전 열쇠 구멍이 있는 작은 원목 사물함이 보였고, 별 다른 건 없지만 깨끗하게 정돈된 클럽 하우스가 우리를 반겨주고 있었다. 이번엔 나도 정가운데 자리에 앉아 가이드의 설명을 듣기도 했다.
가이드가 저 관람석을 지날 때 무슨 이야기를 했는데 저 기둥 때문인 거 같았다. 저게 시야를 방해할 거 같아 보여서 관람할 사람들은 저 위치를 잘 확인하고 예약해야할 것이다. 또한 다음 코스로 이동하면서 본 리글리 필드의 주위 풍경은 꽤 매력적인 느낌이었다.
(I reached in away team's clubhouse after listening some informations in outfield. It looked a small wood locker having key's hole before just coming inside, though there isn't special things, clubhouse's cleaned was welcoming for us. I had listened guide's explanation sitting seat in the middle this time.
I thought Guide talked something when we passed the seats, because of that columns. I think that ones interrupt view, so people who watch game will check that position well and reserve. Also nearby landscape of Wrigley Field moved and seen to the next course made pretty attract feeling.)

미디어룸 가는 길에 열심히 그라운드 전체 모습을 찍고, 미디어룸 들어와서도 계속하여 셔터를 눌러댔다. 이 위치가 리글리 필드의 최적의 모습을 담을 수 있는 곳이기 때문이다. 깔끔하게 잘 가꿔진 푸른 잔디와 특이한 구조의 그라운드 모양, 외야의 담쟁이 덩굴과 좌우측 두 개의 전광판 그리고 오래된 스코어보드, 외부 옥상 좌석들과 가까운 곳에 위치한 고전적인 느낌의 건물들 그리고 저 멀리 다운타운 건물들까지 조화를 이룬 엄청나게 아름다운 광경이었다. 야간에 보면 더 이쁘겠다는 생각도 들고 말이다.
외부 건물 옥상에 있는 좌석의 경우, 예전에는 허락없이 저 건물주들이 저 좌석 티켓을 판매했다는데 이 문제로 법적 소송이 벌어진 이후 일정 수익을 구단에 주는 조건으로 계속 영업할 수 있다고 한다. 하지만 실상 단체 손님들만 받고, 가격이 더 비싸다고......
(I took some photos very hard on my way to media room, put into camera's shutter in succession also entering into media room. Because this is a position can put the best shot of Wrigley Field. It was very beautiful scenery harmonized green lawn neatly raised well, ground shape of unique structure, ivy in outfield and two electronic scoreboards of the left-right side and old scoreboard, outside roof-top seats and classical buildings located nearly, far away buildings of downtown. I thought it was more beautiful if it watches at night.
In case of roof-top seats outside, that landlords sold seat tickets owned them to fans without permission, they can continually sell on terms that proper profit pays to Cubs after happening legal lawsuit. But group fans can enter that, more expensive......)

드디어 구장 투어의 클라이 막스인 덕아웃에 이르렀다. 여느 구장이든 마찬가지지만 경기가 없는 날에도 이렇게 물을 뿌리며 잔디를 관리하고 있었고, 넓직한 덕아웃이 우리를 반겨주고 있었다. 여기서 잠시 몇 분 동안 사진도 찍고, 그라운드 주위를 둘러보게 시간을 주는데 당연히 인증샷 하나는 필요할 거 같아서 같이 투어를 했던 분에게 요청을 했고, 생각 외로 너무 잘 찍어주셔서 지금도 만족하고 있다.
또한 나가는 길에 가이드가 한 명 한 명 인사를 해주는 모습도 인상적이었다. 원래 이 분의 스타일인지는 모르겠으나, 다른 투어에서는 이렇게 사람들이 나오길 기다리면서 인사해주지는 않았기 때문에...!!!
(Finally we reached dugout being climax of ball park tour. It's taking care of lawn to spread water like this on off-day as another ball park's doing, large dugout had welcomed for us. A guide gave any times for taking photography and looking around ground for a minute, I asked taking my photo to someone who participated this tour with together so I think I need some photos which put me, she had a good skill, so I'm satisfied even now.
Also I was impressive that guide said good bye to people who participated tour one by one on way to go outside. I don't know his own style, but I've never seen guided who was waiting for people and said farewell like this another tour...!!!)

투어에 참여한 사람들이 그 티켓으로 이 곳에서 구단 상품을 구매하면 15%인가 할인받을 수 있다고 가이드가 말해줬었는데 그때만 딱 듣고 새까맣게 잊어버리고 있었다. 그래서 마스코트 인형과 컵스 야구공 모두 정가로 구입했고, 이 사실을 나중에야 깨달았다!!! 😢😢😢
그래도 환전해 간 돈이 무지 많이 남아서 별 이상이 없기는 했으나(현금 별로 가지고 가지도 않았는데 비싼 음식 잘 안 사먹어서 그런갑다;;;), 아쉽긴 했다. 어쨌든 밝고 환한 공간 안에 여러 상품들이 보기 좋게 잘 진열이 되어있고, 2층 올라가는 길에 큰 TV가 있어서 컵스의 경기 내용을 확인하며 쇼핑할 수 있다.
다르빗슈의 저지를 보니 그가 이제는 진짜 컵스 선수라는 게 실감이 난 것 같다. 올 시즌에는 부상으로 성적도 안 좋고, 거의 못 나오고 있는 것 같던데 그러게 작년에 다저스 가서 투구폼 변경은 왜 했는지 안타까울 따름이다. 부상 위험이 커서 투구폼 변경했다고 들었는데 바꾸고 나서 밸런스 안 잡히고 부상으로 더 시달리는 거 보면 내 처음 생각대로 예전 폼에서 큰 변경은 하지 않는 것이 나았던 거 아닌가 싶다. 윌리 칼훈 우리 팀에 중복 자원이라 그닥 필요도 없는 자원이었거늘(추신수가 다른 팀에 트레이드 되면 쓰임새야 있겠지만) 트레이드는 왜 했는지, 트레이드 안되었으면 이런 일까진 없었을 거 같은데 다르빗슈 때문에 다시 MLB로 돌아온 팬으로서 매우 슬플 뿐이다. 그래도 부디 빨리 회복해서 컶에 힘이 되어주었으면 하는 바람이다. 원래 올시즌 후반부터는 살아나지 않을까란 생각을 가지고 있었어서 건강 관리 잘하고 돌아오길 바란다!
{Guide told us you purchase merchandise of cubs and can discount 15% by a ticket here, I had just listened only then and been forgotten all about it. So I all purchased a mascot doll and cubs baseball by fixed price, I've realized the fact later!!! 😢😢😢
It didn't care that so there were many cashes exchanging to US dollar(I didn't bring big money, but it was so due to spending cheap foods;;;), but I was sad. Anyway a lot of goods were neatly displayed well in bright space, it can check cubs game and do shopping cause by big TV on way to 2nd floor.
To see Darvish's jersey, I felt he really is a Cubs player lately. His record isn't good by injury this year, I think he is on DL, I'm sorry why he changes his pitching form a lot when he went to Dodgers. I heard his form has injury risk and changed it, to check unequable pitch balance and more frequent injury after changing form, I think better his pitch form doesn't bigly change as my first thought. In fact, Willie Calhoun didn't need to my team so there are some players like Calhoun having not good defense(if Choo is traded to another team, Calhoun can use DH), I don't understand why the trade executed, Darvish wouldn't struggle in some ways and my team might go to WC if the trade didn't do. I'm just so sad as I'm a fan who returns to MLB because of Davrish Yu.
However I wish he quickly recovers and helps for team. I've naturally been thinking he is getting better from the mid-end of this season, so I hope he grows strong in health and comes back again!)

정말 미국 야구장 돌아보면서 이렇게 주택가에 바로 붙어있는 곳은 처음 본 것 같다. 하긴 한국 야구장도 이런 곳이 거의 없긴 하구나......
그나마 미국은 단체 응원 문화는 없고, 전광판에서 응원을 유도하는 메시지가 중간중간 뜰 뿐이라 한국보다 소음이 심하지는 않는데 문제는 컵스가 인기팀이라 경기가 늘어져서 연장전까지 가는 야간 경기가 되면 좀 곤란해질 것 같기는 하다. 그래도 주위 주택가나 소규모 상점이 있는 건물들을 보면 아기자기 이쁘면서도 빈티지한 느낌이 나서 꽤 매력적인 것 같다.
또한 여러 군데에 기념 동상들이 있는데 그 중의 하나인 컵스에서 가장 유명한 미스터 컵스, 즉 어니 뱅크스의 동상에는 좋은 글귀가 쓰여져 있다. "Let's play two" 는 그의 야구에 대한 열정과 긍정적인 태도를 상징하는 말로 캐치 프레이즈의 예시가 되었다.
그는 통산 512 홈런을 쳤고, 1955년에는 5개의 그랜드 슬램을 기록하였으며, 1958~59년 MVP, 유격수로 1958년 47 홈런을 치고, 1959년 가장 적은 12 에러와 최고 수비율 .985를 기록했다고 한다. 1977년 명예의 전당에 헌액되었고, 그의 넘버 14번은 1982년에 영구결번 되었으며, 2013년 버락 오바마 전 대통령으로부터 대통령 자유 훈장을 받았다.

MLB hasn't a group supporting culture like Korea or Japan, it just displays messages leading cheer on the board, so it isn't serious noisy, but I think it is loud if game extends and becomes tie-game in deep night cause Cubs is a popular team. But it sees residential area or buildings being small scale shops, it feels pretty attractive caused by cute beautiful and vintage feeling.
Also there are memorial statues here and there, it was inscribed good phrase on a statue of Mr. Cubs Ernie Banks who is the most famous in Cubs. "Let's play two" is a wording that symbolizes his enthusiasm and positive attitude, was exemplified famous catchphrase.
He hit 512 homers in his career, recorded 5 grand slams in 1955, he was MVP from 1958 to 1959, hit 47 homers as shortstop in 1958, recorded the fewest 12 error and best fielding average .985 in 1959. He entered into Hall of fame in 1977, his uniform number '14' was retired by the Cubs in 1982, President Barack Obama presented him with the presidential medal of freedom being the highest civilian honor in the US.)
올해의 미국 야구장 투어는 리글리 필드가 마지막이 될 것 같다. 원래 일이 잘 풀리면 이번 9월 추석연휴와 휴가를 합쳐서 다시 한번 미국에 가려고 했고, 더불어 쿠어스 필드도 한번 다녀오려 했었는데 그 계획은 이루어지기 힘들 것 같다.
그래서 이 리글리 필드의 글을 마무리하려니 마음이 착잡하기 이를 데 없는 느낌이다. 어떻게 해서든지 내년에는 또 다시 야구장 투어를 시작하긴 할 것이지만 미르 없는 이 세상 이제 나의 유이한 활력소인 MLB 야구와 노마 마자라를 올해 다시 직접 보러 갈 수 없다는 것이 슬플 따름이다.
(I think Wrigley Field becomes the last place in case of MLB ball park tour of this year. If my work quickly goes well, I've been considering to go to US once again using thanksgiving holiday and day-off on September and have also tried to go to Coors Field at the same time, I think the plan won't accomplish.
So my heart is mixed feelings that I should finish this post about Wrigley Field. I'll restart ball park tour by some means again next year, I'm just so sad that I can't go to watch MLB and Nomar Mazara being only my two tonic lately in this world that Mir passed away once again this year.)
