항상 글을 쓸 때면 첫 단어를 어떻게 시작해야 할지 많은 고민을 하게 되고, 그렇게 첫 줄 그리고 첫 문단만 완성하는데도 꽤 오랜 시간이 걸리는데 이번에도 여지없이 그런 긴 시간을 보내고 나서야 이렇게 첫 마침표를 찍어본다. 2016년의 끝자락에 다다른 지금에서야 지난 9월 중순부터 10월 중순까지 다녀온 27일간의 미국 여행에 대한 소소한 글을 시작하는 것이 다소 게을러 보이기는 하지만 말이다. 객관적으로는 매우 소소한 글이 되겠지만 내 개인적으로는 아주 큰 과업일지도 모르겠고......
어쨌든 작년부터 시작한 나의 버킷리스트 중 가장 달성하기 힘든 이 꿈을 이루기 위해 올해도 빠른 시점부터 많은 준비를 했고, 예상보다 긴 시간동안 MLB 야구장을 비롯한 각 도시의 명소도 함께 둘러볼 수 있었다. 아마 최소 몇 년간 다시 올 수 없는 소중한 기간이었을지도 모르겠다. 이 나라에서 일을 하려면 주말을 낀 7일 여행가는 것도 버겁기 때문에 그 추억 하나하나를 기록으로 남겨보고 싶다.
(When I always write, I agonizes a lot about how does first word start, it takes so long time what it completes only first line and first paragraph, I put the first dot after long time like that. It seems to be lazy a little what I start trivial writing about journey for 27 days being from the middle of September to the middle of October in the present time to reach the end of 2016. Maybe this becomes trivial writings objectively, but is great task in personality......
Anyway I prepared a lot from the early time this year for achieving this most difficult dream in my bucket list starting from last year, I can look around famous places of each other cities with MLB ball parks for long period than I expect. Maybe that was valuable period which can't experience the several years at least. I'd like to remain the memories one by one because If I try to work, it's so difficult tour of 7 days including weekend.)

여행 기간에 비해 다녀온 곳이 많지는 않지만 빡빡하게 일정 소화하는 것 자체를 별로 좋아하지도 않고, 주된 목표는 MLB 야구장 투어이기 때문에 그 시간을 제외한 나머지 시간을 활용할 수 있는 장소 위주로 다녀왔다. 여기서 몇몇 곳은 재방문할지도 모르니 그 때 못 돌아본 곳을 가면 될 것 같다.
올해 야구장 6곳을 돌아보면서 작년부터 지금까지 총 10곳을 돌았는데 앞으로 20곳이 더 남았고 거기에 더해 최소 3곳의 신구장이 건설될 예정이라 언제 이 꿈을 모두 이룰지는 모르겠다. 진짜 죽기 전까지 다 갈 수 있을까......
(I couldn't go many tourist attractions to compare journey period, but cause I don't like to digest intensive schedule and main bucket list is MLB ball park tour, I went mainly places where can use extra time except that time. It doesn't know I revisit several places in that ones, so I think I go omission at that time.
I went 6 ball parks this year and total 10 ball parks from last year to now, it remains 20 ones in the future, besides it will be constructed 3 new ones at least, I have no idea when this dream all comes true. Can I really go every MLB ball parks until I pass away in my life......)
이번에도 각각의 도시마다 관광 명소, MLB 야구장, MLB 게임 이렇게 세 가지의 주제로 글을 쓸 것이지만 알링턴 정규시즌의 경우 특별히 돌아본 관광지가 없어서 관광 명소 글은 생략하고, PNC 파크는 작년에도 다녀온 곳이라 야구장 투어 글을 생략할 것이며, 뉴욕 양키 스타디움 경기는 내 응원팀의 경기가 아니었어서 관광 명소에 넣을 것이고, 포트워스와 댈러스의 경우는 순수하게 관광만 했기에 관광 명소 글만 쓰게 될 것 같다. 마지막 알링턴 포스트시즌도 경기 관람만 했기 때문에 정리 글까지 하면 총 22개의 글을 써야 할 듯 싶다. 아, 언제 다 쓰지......
(I'll write 3 subjects of tourist attraction and MLB ball park and game at each cities at this time, however there isn't specially tourist attraction in case of regular season in Arlington, so I omit about tourist attraction's writing, also I'll omit ball park tour's writing cause I went to PNC park last year, again, it'll insert a game about yanks' game in New York to tourist attraction writing due to not my supporting time's game, I think I will write only tourist attraction's writing so it purely looked around in Fort Worth and Dallas. I think I will write total 22 writing to include complete post cause I watched only games about the final ALDS in Arlington. Um, when can I write all......)
1) [2016 MLB TOUR] 미국 옛 수도이자 독립 전쟁의 발원지, 필라델피아 (The old capital of USA and the center of independence war, Philadelphia)
펜실베니아 주에 위치한 필라델피아는 델라웨어와 스퀼킬 강을 끼고 있는 미국 북동부 지역에서 두번째로 큰 도시이고, 미국에서 다섯번째로 큰 도시이다. 델라웨어 밸리 지역의 경제와 문화의 중심지이고, 미국 제 2의 항구 도시로서 석유·조당·철광석·양모 등을 주로 수입하고, 전통적으로 출판업이 유명하다고 한다.
(Philadelphia where locates Pennsylvania state is the secondary big city in the northeast area of USA where is between Delaware river and Schuylkill river, is the fifth big city in the America. This city is the center of economy and culture of Delaware Valley area, this one mainly import oil·raw sugar·iron ore·wool·etc and is famous publishing traditionally.)
이 도시의 존재는 전부터 알고 있었지만 어떤 곳인지 아는 것은 거의 없었다. 그냥 「콜드 케이스」 라는 미드를 보기 전까지는 크림치즈와 MLB팀인 필라델피아 필리스 그리고 NBA팀 필라델피아 세븐티식서스 정도만 알고 있었다. 뭐 MLB팀이야 야구를 좋아하니까 그리고 찬호 아저씨가 잠시 있었던 팀이기도 했으니 진작부터 알고 있었지만 농구에 관심이 별로 없는 내가 NBA팀을 알게 된 건 예전에 나름 호감을 가졌던 선수가 이 팀에 있었기 때문이다. 앨런 아이버슨이라고......
여행 준비를 시작하며 필라델피아에 대하여 알게 된 중요한 정보는 내가 생각하는 것보다 더 의미가 있는 도시라는 점이었다. 연방국가인 미국이 태동했던 초기의 수도였고, 영국의 식민 정책에 대항한 독립 전쟁의 중심지였으며, 오늘날의 미국 헌법이 1787년 9월 17일 이 곳에서 열린 헌법회의에 의해 채택되었다. 우리도 많이 들어봤던 벤자민 프랭클린, 토마스 제퍼슨 등이 이 당시 미국의 중요한 인물이었는데 벤자민 프랭클린은 보스턴에서 필라델피아로 이주하여 몇 년 안에 가장 유명한 시민 지도자가 되었고, 토마스 제퍼슨은 미국의 3대 대통령이자 미국 독립 선언문을 작성한 사람이었다.
(I've already known existence of this city from the past, but there isn't almost knowing about this city. I knew cream cheese and Philadelphia Phillies of MLB team and Philadelphia 76ers of NBA team until watching drama 「Cold case」. I've known MLB team from the past so I like baseball and was team belonging Chan Ho Park, however what I who wasn't interest in basketball know NBA team was a player who I had a good feeling. His name is Allen Iverson......
I do travel preparation and important information realizing about Philadelphia was more valuable city than I thought. This city was the early capital beginning USA where is federal country and the center of independence war that resists a colonial policy of England, America's Constitution of the present was chosen by Constitution meeting on Sep. 17, 1787 in this city. Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson and etc who we also heard a lot were important people of USA at that time, Benjamin Franklin who moved from Boston to Philadelphia became the most famous civic leader in several years, Thomas Jefferson was the third president of USA and wrote the Declaration of independence.)
[워싱턴 스퀘어 파크(Washington Square Park in Philadelphia)]
인디펜던스 홀에 도착하기 전 먼저 워싱턴 스퀘어 공원에 들렀다. 일부러 들를 필요없이 가는 길 중간에 위치해 있었고, 규모도 작아 가볍게 산책하기도 좋았다. 18세기에는 동물을 방목하거나 흑인들의 공동묘지로, 독립 전쟁 후에는 전사자들의 묘지로 사용되었으며 1815년에 이르러서야 현대적인 공원의 모습을 갖추게 되었다고 한다. 독립 전쟁이나 남북 전쟁 등의 여러 역사적인 흔적이 있기도 하며 이 주위의 6번가와 월넛 거리는 출판업의 요충지가 되었다.
바로 위의 사진에 보이는 기념물은 독립 전쟁에 참전했던 군인들의 묘지와 조지 워싱턴의 동상이다.
(At first I dropped by Washington Square Park before arriving Independence Hall. That place located in the center on my way that it needs to drop by, it lightly liked to walk due to small park. It was used to graze animals or African-American's cemetery in 18th century, was used war dead's cemetery after the American Revolution, it heard that it was arranged scene of modern park. There's some historic trace the American Revolution or the Civil War or etc, 6th street and Walnut street became key point of publishing business.
The memorial seeing that picture of the top is soldiers' cemetery which fought to American Revolution and statue of George Washington.)

[인디펜던스 내셔널 히스토리컬 파크(Independence National Historical Park)]
여느 공원과 마찬가지로 여러 동물이 많지만 특히 이 곳에는 도토리를 찾으러 다니는 다람쥐가 참 많이 보였다. 우리 나라 공원에서 다람쥐 보기가 쉽지는 않은데 이 곳은 그렇지 않았고, 사람들과 부대끼며 지내서 그런지 거의 경계하지 않는다.
공원을 지나면 이렇게 인디펜던스 내셔널 히스토리컬 파크에 들어설 수 있고 바로 인디펜던스 홀이 먼저 나오는데 이 곳은 후문이라 입구로 들어가려면 인디펜던스 비지터 센터에 가서 티켓을 받아야 한다.
(There are many animals of several kinds likewise another park, specially it could see a lot of squirrels that are looking for acorn in this place. It isn't easy to look squirrel in here's park, this place wasn't, they aren't almost wary so they live with human.
It passes the park, can enter Independence National Historical Park and look Independence Hall like that, if it goes into entrance cause this is back gate, it goes to Independence Visitor center and should get a ticket.)

인디펜던스 홀 바로 건너편에 인디펜던스 비지터 센터가 있다. 건물을 쭉 들어가면 데스크가 나오는데 이 곳에서 인디펜던스 홀 티켓을 받으면 되고, 내 기억엔 대략 30분 간격으로 들어갈 수 있었던 것 같다. 하지만 난 이 비지터 센터 내부를 한바퀴 쭉 둘러보고 자유의 종을 본 후 인디펜던스 홀로 가느라 시간이 늦었는데 어차피 시간 간격은 짧은 편이니 먼저 이 곳을 둘러본 후 티켓을 받아 건너편 자유의 종을 보고 인디펜던스 홀로 가면 시간이 대충 맞을 것 같다.
(It has Independence Visitor Center the opposite Independence Hall. It enters into Independence Hall and has a front desk, it should get a ticket in this place, I thought it could go into there about interval 30 minutes. But I turned around inside of this visitor center and it was late going to Independence Hall after watching Liberty Bell, it gets a ticket after looking around this visitor center at first cause time interval is short and sees Liberty Bell the opposite side, I think it should go to Independence Hall.)
그 외에도 필라델피아와 그 역사에 대한 여러가지 정보와 자료를 얻을 수 있고, 입구 근처에 기념품 가게도 있다. 난 여기서 스노우볼과 기념주화를 구입했는데 조금 눈에 띄었던 건 요리책이 있었다는 것이고, 그 중에 하나가 필라델피아 크림치즈에 관한 책이었던 것 같다.
(Except for that It can get some information and data about Philadelphia and the history and there's souvenir store near the entrance. I bought snowball and souvenir coin, thing to stick our a little, there were some cook books and I thought one of that was a book about Philadelphia cream cheese.)
[필라델피아 내셔널 히스토리컬 파크(Philadelphia National Historical Park)]
[자유의 종 센터(Liberty Bell Center)]
자유의 종은 1752년 주문 제작되었으며 "모든 땅 위의 모든 사람들에게 자유를 공표하라." 라는 문자가 새겨져있다. 초기에는 의회 회기동안 의원들을 소환하는 데 사용되었고, 공적인 모임과 공표를 위해 시민들을 불러 모으는 것으로 바뀌었으며 1830년대 노예제도 폐지론자 학회에서 상징으로 채택되며 이렇게 불리기 시작했다고 한다. 현대로 와서 냉전기 때는 '자유의 상징' 으로 사용되었고, 1960년대에는 항의 집회의 장소로 인기있는 장소였다.
첫 타종 이후 금이 가서 재주조 되었지만 다시 19세기 초반에 큰 금이 갔고, 그 이후 또 금이 생기고 조각이 유실되는 등 필라델피아 시는 자유의 종 순회를 멈추며 현재까지 계속 인디펜던스 내셔널 히스토리컬 파크 안에서 보관하고 있다.
(Liberty Bell was customized in 1752 and was graved letter "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof." It used to summon members for assembly session in the beginning, turned to call together citizens for official meeting and announcement, it heard to call like this, was chosen a symbol in society of slavery abolitionist in 1830s. To modern times, that used 'symbol of liberty' in the Cold War and was a popular place where had a protest meeting.
That was casted again due to cracking after first bell-tolling, it bigly cracked again in the beginning of 19th century, Philadelphia city stopped round tour of Liberty Bell after it cracked over and again then, they are keeping one in the Independence National Historical Park for now.)

입장 초기 이 건물 내에서 화재 경보기가 울리기 시작해서 약 30분 동안 추이를 지켜볼 수 밖에 없었는데 결국 한정된 공간만 둘러볼 수 있었기 때문에 너무 아쉬웠다. 운이 없었던 거겠지만......
인디펜던스 홀은 원래 1753년 펜실베니아 식민지의 의회로 완공되었다. 1775년부터 1783년까지 제 2차 대륙 회의의 주요 장소였으며, 1776년 7월 4일 영국 식민지 하에 있던 13개 식민지 대표가 이 건물의 사랑방에 모여 토마스 제퍼슨이 기초한 미국 독립선언문에 서명하면서 독립기념관으로 불리기 시작했다고 전한다. 또한 앞에서도 언급했듯이 1787년에는 이 곳에서 미국 헌법이 제정되었고, 1790년부터 1800년 미국의 수도가 되었을 때에는 의회 의사당으로 사용했다. 의원수가 적었던 '원로원'이 2층을 사용하였고, '하원' 이 1층을 회의장으로 사용한 것이 오늘날 '상원' 과 '하원' 단어의 어원이 되었다.

Independence Hall was naturally completed assembly of Pennsylvania colony in 1753. This was a main place of Second Continental Congress from 1775 to 1783, 13 colony representative under England's colony in JUL 4, 1776 signed to the declaration of independence based on Thomas Jefferson in guest room of this building, it heard it started to call a Independence Hall. Also it was established Constitution of the United States in this place in 1787, used National Assembly Hall when this city became a capital of USA from 1790 to 1800. Senator that has a few assemblymen used the second floor and congressmen used the first floor for conference hall, this was origin of word 'senator and congressman' today.)

필라델피아 다운타운에 많은 호텔이 있지만 비용이 꽤 비싸서 나름 허용가능한 범위 내의 호텔을 알아볼 수 밖에 없었는데 나름 괜찮았던 것 같다. 매우 작고 아담한 호텔이지만 호텔과 방 분위기 모두 뭔가 18세기 혹은 19세기의 고풍스러운 필라델피아 느낌이 들었다고나 할까... 근처에 지하철 2개역 정도가 있어서 야구장 가기도 편안했고, 역사적인 관광 명소도 도보 거리에 있어서 좋았으며 조식도 무료라 괜찮았다.
(There were many hotels in Philadelphia down, I should find a hotel within acceptable limit so it's expensive, I felt good. This hotel's so small and neat hotel, but did whole hotel and room all feel vintage Philadelphia in 18th or 19th century... It has two stations near hotel and I could comfortably go ball park, I was good so historical journey attraction located 15 minutes by walk and breakfast was good due to free.)
실질적으로 관광할 수 있는 날은 1일 뿐이었고, 건강도 좋지 않았던 상황이라 더 많은 곳을 갈 수 없어서 아쉬웠지만 그래도 나름 여유롭게 시간을 보낼 수 있었다. 역시 여행은 나를 항상 숨쉬게 만들어주는 것 같다.
(Actually the time that I could tour had only a day and my health wasn't good, so I felt wanting cause I couldn't go more place, anyway I could relaxedly take time somehow. As well, journey always makes to breath for me.)
