360 Chicago (Chicago, The windy city - Lincoln & Millennium Park and 360 Chicago)

(『One woman was looking seashore of Emerald color and quietly walking on the white sandy beach where spreads endlessly. She holds a camera by one hand and grabs a shoulder strap of Maltese such as white cotton ball by another hand, slowly walks across between the space. Just in time, red sunset that casts made to stop her step, she drops on the sandy beach with Maltese for a while and gently looks horizontal line and starts to press shutter of camera. Just the moment, someone approached and held them in his large and staunch shoulder, they warmly whispered at each other like that, have started to walk to the end of one side on the sandy beach, again.』

Dreaming composure of life and liberty, I've always used to draw like this. Ocean, beach, dog, romantic view, camera, etc...... Maybe It seems a word 'travel' can speak microcosm of life is an element that gives composure and liberty like that to me. It's a situation can't meet Mir again for now, but if I meet with Mir later and also join with loved one in heaven, I believe I can see wonderful view like that and start to post this writing.)

(I planned cost-effective travel so my situation isn't good, had looked around 4 ball parks where I have never gone this time and could worthily look tourist attractions as my idea. After going back from travel, I can't know sure cause whether weak strength gets lower and I couldn't adjust jet leg so I had gone all the eastern and central and western area of US within short time or my health got worse pretty much, I've been sick as frequently going in and out of hospital. But the reason that has no regret about this travel is what had never been sick in middle that time at all, I thought coming back here by itself gave any more stresses to me, I feel this is more reasonable cause.

As I did so, I'm going to write dividing to the part of sightseeing and MLB ball parks and baseball and ending story, I've thought I would like to make only my book for using these materials after I all go to 30 ball parks(including cities) and accumulate more reference materials. For leaving trace of the history that I have been creating by myself not purpose of sale......)

360 Chicago (Chicago, The windy city - Lincoln & Millennium Park and 360 Chicago)

(Night view in Chicago)]

(Chicago is the third biggest city in the next New York, Los Angeles in US, the biggest city in Illinois and the Midwest area, is living about 2.7m population. A metropolitan city of this area called Chicago Land is living 9.5m population, boasts third big scale in US. It's an international hub of economy and trade ad industry and science and communication and transportation, O'hare International Airport is the secondary congested zone in the world and the zone where passes by the most expressway. A name called 'Chicago' originates from 'Shikaakwa' which means 'wild leek and garlic' in Miami-Illinois language, this word translated to French and has been called pronunciation of now.

Native American called Potawatomi was living in this area in the middle of 18 century, the result of Indian Wars in 1795, Native American ceded Chicago area to US by Treaty of Greenville, US was allotted addition territory from Ottawa and Ojibwa and Potawatomi by Treaty of St. Louis in 1816. Finally Potawatomi was forcibly moved to another area by Treaty of Chicago in 1833, it sadly seems any trace of something genocide in Chicago that we have often heard in the movie or history. Of course, it can't set back again......)

(In 1848, Galena and Chicago Union Railroad being the first railroad of Chicago opened with Illinois Michigan canal, started to connect from Mississippi River to Great Lakes, it was the influx of the many population due to that, Chicago Board of Trade established standard of futures trading at the first time. In 1850, Chicago was famous politics city due to Stephen A. Douglas who was senator to enact Kansas-Nebraska Act and treat 'popular sovereignty' about slave proliferation's issue, Abraham Lincoln advanced to national stage by the effect and was selected candidate of presidential election after winning from Douglas National Republican Convention. Of course, there happened the Civil War during his occupation of the Presidency...

In February 1856, Ellis Sylvester Chesbrough was approved the United States' first comprehensive sewerage, almost pollution was solved in 1900. In 1871, it happened Great Chicago Fire and zone of 1 to 4 mile was destroyed, it was the biggest damage scale in Chicago history. Structure being wood was all destroyed, it survived intact almost railroads and stockyards, iron and stone was raised international construction materials by that. During its rebuilding period, 'Home Insurance Building' which is the first Skyscraper made by steel-skeleton was built in 1885.)

(In 1870 to 1880s, it improved public health and the level of medical service raised, Lincoln park built in the space where eliminates unhygienic cemetery by a plan for Chicago's park system in 1866. In 1910 to 30s, many African American moved to Chicago and Chicago Black Renaissance being the part of New Negro Movement brought revolution of arts and culture and music, there was huge racial tension. And 18th Amendment to the Constitution prohibited the production and sale of alcohol beverage in 1919, gangsters of Al Capone and Dion O'Banion and Bugs Moran and Tony Accardo and etc appeared, 'St. Valentine's Day Massacre' that was a war between gang of Al Capone and Bugs Moran happened.

In December 2, 1942, Physicist Enrico Fermi conducted the world's first controlled nuclear reaction at the University Chicago as part of the top-sceret Manhattan Project, this led to the creation of the atomic bomb by US which it used in World War Ⅱ in 1945.

Martin Luther King Jr and Albert Raby led the Chicago Freedom Movement in 1966, Richard J. Daley got Major Construction Project underway including Sears Tower(Willies Tower in the present) and University of Illinois at Chicago and McCormick Place and Chicago O'hare International Airport and etc, Jane Byrne who was the city's first female mayor helped reduce crime in the Cabrini Housing Project and led Chicago's school system and out of a financial crime.)

(Lincoln Park)]

(I moved to Lincoln Park with meeting my friend after Wrigley Field Tour in this day. The part where people planning Chicago trip go the most is Millennium Park, to search for some trip information, I have felt Lincoln Park is the place like something hidden jewel. When I entered into entrance, I thought this was a small park, to pass a tunnel, my eyes could look a huge part. Though it was the top of May, it saw bare trees here and there whether definite spring didn't come to Chicago, but I like large and clear sky and green grass a lot, a small lake has been added the flavor.

There are many wild animals that live here, animal seen me was just baby turtles and gooses. By the way, I saw dogs that were playing on the large grass and had thought my Mir so much, I feel very comfortable due to this atmosphere.)

(Lincoln Park Zoo)]

(Lincoln Park)]

(Lincoln Park Zoo can enter on free and it is the place where family spectators often go, but it should go considering time well so opening hour is until 5:00pm.

But it was harmonized clear and clean sky, green grass, trees radiate spring fragrance here and there, a small lake, buildings of downtown, so I could take a wonderful photos. I thought it was good thing going Lincoln Park cause the scene harmonized everything is my favorite subject for photography.)

(Library of Chicago)]

(Millennium Park's entrance)]

(Cloud Gate)]

(Jay Pritzker Pavillion)]

{Millennium Park is a park where locates in Chicago Loop community's zone and was built for celebrating the 3rd Millennium, a famous civic center of near Lake Michigan's shoreline that puts 24.5 acre(99,000) of Grant Park in the north-west way together.

In 1871, Union Base-ball Grounds was built in this site of Millennium Park(Home of the Chicago White Stockings and former Chicago Cubs), was destroyed, Chicago city owed and it changed Lakefront Park. After that, Chicago city decided to build convenience facility for citizens with a parking lot's extension plan, got much contribution and was reborn Millennium Park. In January 2000, Chicago city announced park extends including special structures such as Cloud Gate and Crown Fountain and McDonald's Cycle Center and BP Pedestrian Bridge, also received a lot of contribution and finished.)

(Cloud Gate is calling a nickname "The Bean" from Chicago citizens due to legume form, there are 3 stories about this iron sculpture. It was the first public art works creating by international artist Anish Kapoor, though civilian had led, was raised $23m over planned donation, it consists of welded 168 stainless steel plate and exterior face not look a boundary line is pretty glossy. Cloud Gate that is inspired from liquid mercury reflects city skyline, walking under high arch and near the one also reflects, concave room that reflective forms are bent and multiplied is "omphalos".

Jay Pritzker Pavillion is theater has 4,000 seats and a lawn 7,000 people are able to sit down, the place where is home of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, opens Grant Music Festival.

BP Pedestrian Bridge's a footbridge can cross Maggie Delay Park being two part of Grant Park and Columbus Drive connecting to Millennium Park, was used the wide carving of stainless steel plate, unique curve form looks similar with snake.)

(Maggie Daley Park)]

(Chicago's skyscrapers seen at Maggie Delay Park)]

(Millennium Park)]

(Crown Fountain)]

(There were many more places, I thought I roughly looked so I walked a lot. It has 'The Art Institute of Chicago' in just the next here, I wanted to stop by there cause it is getting very good judgement, I feel regrettable cause I wasn't so. Is there an opportunity again due to baseball?

Skyscrapers of Chicago show pretty special and distinctive and various architecture. So I heard Chicago is world-famous for architect, I set itinerary can feel that much more in all this day and next day from before travel. I'll handle detailed story later.

Crown Fountain is attractive public art works and fountain of video clip called 'Crown Family of Chicago', it was designed by Jaume Plensa who is a conceptual artist of Catalonia. It consists of A pair of translucent glass bricks tower and plash which is reflected black granite located between tower and plash, a light emitting diode is using behind the bricks appearing digital video. Fountain runs from May to October by the weather, a waterfall intermittently goes down under two tower, water is sprayed along nozzle on the obverse of each towers, fountain didn't run when I was there.

In that time it was opened, surveillance camera was installed on the top of fountain and city got a lot of complaint(eliminated just that time), even though there were arguments, it is a starting point that finds out a way of Chicago's pop culture by itself. It's popular object to photographers, the  most noteworthy point is video clip of Chicago citizens by itself and it randomly appears their's face on two screens.)

(A steak and Spaghetti eating dinner)]

(Skyscrapers of night seen at Millennium Park)]

(Cloud Gate of night)]

(Jane Bryne Plaza)]

(After I ate a stake and spaghetti for dinner with my friend, I stopped by here so I wondered nigh scene of Millennium Park, it looks like night is more tremendous in this place. light of skyscrapers and distinctive architectures stands out, especially skyline which is reflected in Cloud Gate and night view harmonized buildings was diffusing prodigious attraction.)

(Chicago's night view)]

{Finally I reached John Hancock Center(360 Chicago in the present) for watching night view being final course of this day and climax of travel. Night view seen Willis Tower which is higher than this building is famous, but I could confirm itinerary without hesitation before going travel cause  American of online community which I am joining in US told this place is better.

As their saying, Chicago seen in this observation enormously boasts magnificent night view as really I can't but admire like the reputation. The best night view that I have gone was Twin Peaks in San Francisco, it looked like this place was similar to Twin Peaks. The different thing is having almost skyscrapers of distinctive architecture here, can watch night view of a little more various composition like buildings and ocean and bridges and mountain and etc in case of Twin Peaks...... It's sure all both places are really attractive ones.

I think beautiful night view presents great adrenaline to me. I don't almost like big city, but I feel good it lives once here. I didn't have feeling like this in New York, maybe it is less crowded than New York and feel so due to special attraction only Chicago.)
